English Dragon Box Release

I'm concerned since it would be so detrimental to have the Funi Remasters of DB, GT, and movies (with the same packaging as Z) but have DBZ as a Dragon Box.

I did read somewhere around this thread that they'll be working on the Movies as well for a Dragon Box release but seeing that they JUST finished GT and are now moving to the first ever release of DB makes me think they're just going to go for Z and movies when it comes to the Dragon Box.

What do you guys think? Do you think in due time there will also be a Dragon Box for DB and GT in America?

Maybe gt, I don't know about dragon ball though. It already has a good release here in the states with the season sets. But we can only speculate at best what funimation's plans are.

Unless we get the proper opening and endings, plus Japanese credits, it's not really perfect...

GT's season sets were better than DB's or DBZ's, though, so if any series should be deprived of a FUNiBox due to production costs or whatever (although I think all three deserve one), then it should be GT. That's the closest to flawless as FUNi's gotten with a DragonBall release before.

Anyway, I know it's already been mentioned, but while I'm writing I may as well add this as an afterthought. Since RightStuf's page seems to be fully updated, the booklet might be all that we get for this particular FUNiBox. Personally, though, I'm cool with that. The booklets have more information than the vintage promotional materials do anyway. That's definitely priority #1 for me.

Was the DragonBook we're getting 80 pages or 48 now? I swear I recall someone said 80 pages way back in July.

48 pages per set does make more sense, though, seeing as how there are only 256 pages in total for the Japanese Z DragonBooks. At any rate, it's still twice as thick as the season set booklets. And hardcover, too.

I don't think they lied, they probably just realized afterwards that 80 pages x 7 boxes would be more pages than both Japanese Dragon Books combined.

Well as long it contains the info the Japanese DragonBook had and translated in English then 48 pages is fine.

Over at kanzentai.com they point out some of the negative aspects of the Japanese dbox sets. Do you think funimation will be fixing these errors?

If the Dragon Box Z is successful and they make a lot of money, they absolutely will realese the DB Dragon Box. Actually, they probally have already planned to realese footage from all 5 Dragon Boxes here in the states. What I'm looking foward to the most though, is Dragon Box the Movies. Over at Kanzentai, they explain about Dragon Box the Movies, how the Remastering Proccess has been taken one step further, and that the footage of DBOX the Movies are better than the TV Series DBOXs. Probally because it was the last realese, so they decided to make it extra special.

Can you stop pulling nonexistent "factoids" out of nowhere, please? You have absolutely basis for anything you have said in this thread, or any thread on this message board, for that matter. It's getting extremely tiring.

Well, since we're getting 284 pages in all 7 boxes, that's still 28 more than the two 128 page booklets that come with the two Japanese box sets.

We may not have the same amount of pages in each Dragon Book, hopefully we won't have any less than the Japanese.

I think the text in the two books are really small, so if they up the font, they can stretch the books to 7 of them.

That makes no sense.

The Dragon Boxes from Japan aren't the same size as normal DVDs, I have a DVD box the same size as them actually, Only Fools and Horses, complete box

, and the Books are pretty much the same size. The box we're getting is standard size, take in consideration with what I said a minute ago, and I don't think they'd need to change the size of the text since it'll be in English anyway and they'd just start from scratch with that.

Because of the size change they might also carry on some information to an extra page.

I'm excited to see the Book especially now, I have to hurry up and fill in some forms so I have money to preorder.

I'm also hoping the Bitching stage is over, but for a Dragon Ball fan, their entire life can be the Bitching stage.

That does make sense.

Say the font in the JP books are at a 12 and fill up 2 books. If you translate them to English and then up the font to say a 16, the font will fill up more than 2 books; as well as all the diagrams and photos.

Ok, 2x2 = 4 books but I DO remember someone somewhere saying the font will be bigger. Not saying thats the definitive reason They have enough for 7 books; but they would need 1 for each box anyways.
