Slightly disappointed now. They mentioned a focus on the Saiyan and Freeza Arcs, yet we don't seem to be getting sufficient characters to even round out those story arcs (Chaozu, Dodoria, Zarbon?). This almost feels like the Kinect game's roster faux pas all over again. And the fact that transformations are a completely separate character on the select screen...if we really don't have in-game transformations, I'm simply not buying the game (at least not anytime soon). There is no reason to remove such a basic staple, and a big part of the series itself, in this day and age.

I tried to give them another chance, but let down again. I'm still interested in the gameplay, and even if it is great, I won't be able to satisfy my desires to reenact whatever battles I want from the series (even just the Saiyan and Freeza Arc). Now it's looking as like if I do eventually pick this up, it'll be down the line in the bargain bin... :/

^ The sad part is. With every news...the more and more I DON'T want to buy this game. I've bashed it and defended it. But now I'm a basher. If there is no In game transformation(Which I think there won't) then that's sad IMO. We have to PICK the transformations. That's just angry as most games since 2002 had in game transformations. WHY WASTE 6 character spots on Freeza? Stupid. 75 characters huh? Since that includes transformations we might be looking a 30 - 50 characters might be even less. That's enough to have fun but why waste those spots on great fighting games character(Chaozu was the shit in RB2 and BT3). I was gong to get this for Xmas or my Bday but fuck it. I'll just rent it and see if anything that might surprise me makes me want to buy it. Let's count the transformations please

Goku(Base, SSJ, SSG, SSJ2, SSJ3) - I doubt SSJ2 will be in there but that's 5 spaces
Vegeta( Base SSJ, ASSJ, SSj2) - 4. Hopefully SSJ2 will be there
Trunks(Sword)(SSJ, Base, ASSJ?) - 2 maybe 3. Since we might only get 1 Trunks
Trunks(Amor) SSJ USSJ Base - 3 if we get more than 1 Trunks.
Freeza( all 5 forms) - 5 slots
Cell - Imperfect, Perfect, Semi, SUPER perfect - 4 slots
Gohan Teen/Kid - Base SSJ SSJ2 - 3 forms
Adult Gohan - SSJ Base SSJ2 - IF We get this character. Then its 3
Goten - SSJ Base - 2 slots
Trunks - SSJ Base - Slots
Cooler - Base Final - 2 slots

Let's not forget FUSION!
Vegetto - SSJ. 1 slot
Gotenks - SSJ Base SSJ3 - 3 slots
I don't feel like doing Math so someone please do it for me and tell me how much this adds up to. Since We can most likely predict the roster now. Please don't quote me saying "Well you haven't seen everything!". I know that hence why I said it might shock me. But with each news I don't want to buy this game. Onyl good thing is the gameplay and that looks stiff. Remember people. I used to defend and bash this game. Sorry(edit) but I just did the math and this adds up to 37. 75 - 37 = 38. Decent size. Yes a bit of a down grade from last games but good enough I suppose. Wonder what will be the other 38. Since we already seen wasted spots like Freeza's solider. I wonder what we have in store next!

Is that seriously the size of the character roster :| ? 75 characters including transformations.... Yeah, I'm getting kinda tired of the half assed character rosters :yawn: . I'll let it slide if the characters handle uniquely, but I highly doubt they will.

At least most of the past games had In game transform. Now you have to pick the transformations which takes up space. Would't be shocked if important supporting character like Dabura or Android 18 are gone

I hope this won't be like the first Sparking game where nearly everyone almost played the same. Not having in game transformations was one of the biggest flaws that the game had since I remember SSj2 Goku played almost the same as SSj Goku. Going by the screen shot, we might get around 60 characters at least.

I for one would be highly dissapointed if you can't transform in battle. To me that's a staple when it comes to DBZ games. :problem:

Assuming all the art they've used to promote the game only contains characters actually in the game, she and 20 are in at least.

Anyway, the more I think about it, the more I annoyed I get about it. Even if they didn't include what-ifs from heroes for the characters that had them, an extra dozen "characters/forms" or so would have helped this game a lot. This list has 89 forms on it and 56 slots without transformations, and it would have been pretty much perfect IMO. It covers all the main story (Raditz to Buu), includes the "canon" Battle of Gods material with BOG and the JSAT, and tosses in EoB for shits and giggles (as well as Broli and Coola, because they already showed them off). This, along with in-game transformations, would have been a day one buy. :/

You know why I feel sad? I know that Hatchiyack will be getting left out from any future game again for more than a decade. He's just that unknown and his second coming time has passed (RB2&Heroes).
I don't see him returning anytime soon.

I remember the first raging blast demo, goku base and goku super saiyan was separated in the character select screen.

i never thought they could do worse then ultimate tenkaichi but as alwayse they make sure each game is worse then the last and battle of z being bad is worse then the others cause it has 2-3 years of work put in to it and this is what they did in that time ?

But yea I agree. The fact it took them 2 years and they removed in game transformations and made half of the character roster the transformations for the characters is utter shit.

BT3 is over stacked. BT2 was more dbzish
budokai 1 had the cutscenes but other then that 3 is better in EVER way
Budokai 3 is overrated. For what it's worth Budokai 1 was more funnier to play. Budokai 3 got boring after completing DU for the 5th time.

The fighting seems way too over the place. It'll be super hectic with 6 players fighting. That could be fun, reminds me a lot of legends gameplay. At least this game looks better than the other PS3 games.

That transformations being different characters is a big disappointment.. I still have hope you'll still be able to transform during battle though.

Hm? If Super Saiyan God form is there, that means Buu Arc is in? DLC maybe..? Cell is definitely there.
