Lets just hope it wont end with just a tournament type ending, pls no! I want something more from this.
What I'll predict is that the tournament will be completed and, regardless of who wins, Vegeta and Goku will go to planet Salad for a mini-arc.
I wonder if there'll be a bad guy boss in this arc, or just a tournament with the earth switching universe or not.

If he jobs then I'm 2/2 when it comes to Boo and Piccolo. I'm hoping Goku switches out after a win and then Piccolo fights the robot guy who's labelled specifically about his techniques.
That would make the F arc totally worthless since that arc was to show that Goku should take shit seriously, tho knowing this is just a tournament with nothing much on the line with just the Earth switching universes if they lose... crap, yeah I see him jobbing.
Zombie wrote:Goku going first completely killed my hope for Piccolo winning a match.
That was my initial reaction at first, but it doesn't rule out Goku losing in a stupid way, as others have said, or him at least wearing out the person he loses to significantly. I dont know if they'd write Piccolo in just to have him get one shotted or not fight at all.
Tell that to Buu fans.
Lol fair enough but a lot of people called Boo failing as soon as the written exam became a thing. There's no guarantee that Boo won't contribute in some other way. I still think that Piccolo will at least fight, at the worst he goes before Vegeta & Monaka to let them know how strong a certain opponent is.

My bet is he's gonna get worfed for sure. At best he might beat the robot guy since he wasn't labelled as strong, but particularly his techniques. Though even still I bet he gets worfed and so Goku or Vegeta have to bypass said techniques after he falls.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!
Spoiler:
Doctor. wrote:I've explained before, I'll just paraphrase myself.
Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.
IGhostUlt wrote:I have a feeling goku is only going to go normal ssj to defeat botamo
What's the point? His base form is far beyond stronger than what a SSJ transformation can offer.
Regardless of how strong his base is, turning Ssj1 will multiply his base power by 50×.
That wasn't the case in Battle Of Gods or Super. Because if it was, Goku would have beaten Beerus.

I'm definitely liking the info about how the origins/backgrounds of the Universe 6 Saiyans and the Universe 7 ones connect and differ. Hmm...when and where was it that the tidbit about 'Planet Vegeta not being the original Saiyan homeworld, perhaps the original is still out there...somewhere?' tease was dropped? I want to say it was from a guidebook a few years ago. It seems petty on point now after all.

So... Goku passed a test eh... I dont buy it, NON CANON!
There goes my hope for their tails....
Beerus really trusts Monaka, I hope it backfires
Space-tional anthem? wtf Toriyama
So thats why he looked like he was taking a jog all over the ring, I thought it was him being cocky again (thank God)
No shit he did, he saw them training at the worst possible scenario with heavy stuffs on.

Focus on the tails Chuquita, we need to protest this injustice and discrimination!
Tails are a thing of the past, Basaku. Ya gotta let it go man. It's all about being a part of the Blue Man Group now.

SansrivaaL wrote:Goku went first? godamn it!! now theres a high chance he'll lose against someone.... well there goes my hope for Goku in U6 arc then, hope there's more to it than a simple tournament.
At least Goku has a high likelihood of claiming a victory or two under his belt before going down; assuming Toriyama intends for him to lose in the first place. I doubt Piccolo has a realistic chance of making it far in this tournament. He's almost assuredly the weakest member of the U7 team and the fact that Goku is receiving the weakest members as opponents lends credence to the theory about Piccolo being exploited for measuring purposes of U6's power.
That would at least mean that he'd have some kind of power up, otherwise he wouldn't be 'measuring' anything. I'm actually happy that Piccolo isn't the first one fighting, since it almost confirms that he won't be only at Cell Games level or something here. Also, the fighters have an "order", so I don't think we'll see random switches after each match.

I agree. All this new info (and the Jaco stuff from previous chapters) definitely helps in making the Dragon Ball multiverse seem all that much bigger and real.

The loss of the tails is a very sad thing; I liked the tails a whole lot. It's Toriyama's call though and nothing can be done about it that I know of.
I'm actually kind of wondering if them getting rid of the tails isn't them also trying to further push this away from GT; what with ssj4's big starter asset being the tails.

For the manga, and in Korean, the only one mentioned was:
Goku: Poro poro army...goes on an errand to the store….and bought 13 Kerokos… Buu: ??? Goku: But on the way back, they met three friends…and for each friend, gave two… Vados: Over there, please don’t talk out loud! Goku: ...

My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)
--Test has 10 questions, anything above 50% is passing.
I thought 40% was the usual cut off mark for passing a test. I guess standards changed.
--Buu fails everything and didn't even write his name right.
This will always crack me up.

I wonder if the deciding factor between the universe 6 Saiyans and the Universe 7 Saiyans is that the original Super Saiyan god won the fight on Salad and the descendants lost their tails due to a lack of moon? Maybe the original moon was destroyed during the battle
