I'd agree though. An interesting premise has completely lost momentum and instead seems to continually divert to meaningless 'specials' that lack the (admittedly suffering as of late) quality of the main story.

I think, from Salagir's perspective, he could not be publishing these special chapters, and just go a few weeks without posting pages. Gogeta Jr.'s probably taking some time off and this was just meant to info-dump and give the hardcore fanbase something to keep coming back for. While I don't particularly care for the art and the information is basically already given to us in earlier pages I'm okay, because the past chapter had some incredibly beautiful art and if putting up with this is the price, I can take it.

The entire Broli fight has really been the public 'promotional face' of the series, so I can see why it's been the longest fight of the series in so far. Personally, I can't wait to see what happens next. There's still time for an interesting curve to end this fight.

The specials shouldn`t really be considered part of the main story. For all intents and purposes, they are filler. They only exist so that the Gogeta Jr can have a little more time with the main story and they try to show how something that is implied in the main story actually happened (which makes them unnecessary).

Besides that, all that you can criticize is the choice of Brolly to be a good fight for Vegetto (which has been covered extensively and its not like they don`t give a reason in the manga for why he is that powerful) and the time that is taking for the Brolly/Vegetto fight to finish, which is the page release schedule`s fault. Really, is you count the number of pages dedicated to the Brolly/Vegetto fight (not counting the special) you won`t even have enough pages to make up three chapters of a weekly shonen manga. In a weekly shonen manga it would only take 3 weeks to release that many pages but it took DBM many months to do the same due to the page release schedule.

In short, which of these "problems" are caused by lack of time from the authors due to this being a fan manga? There are two "problems" caused by it: the specials and the time it takes to conclude a long fight.
There isn`t any solution for this. This is a fan manga done in free time. Deal with it. Just the fact that they actually try to give the readers something in the downtime in the form of specials goes to show us that they actually care about the readers.

What`s left besides that? Oh yeah, the choice of Brolly. Brolly is just one fight. Its a long one, but by the end of the day it will be just one fight. This tournament is huge and there are still many fights left. Even if you don`t like Brolly, you should realize that he is just a part of the fan manga.

Well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

But I happen to share a similar opinion. I feel like DBM has hit an iceburg. We got pretty much exactly the same pages we had at the begining of the comic, and then this special with shitty clean up, rampant tracing, and little to no detail. Just look at the scenery. Holy shit, it's the worst apocalypse ever. Everything is devoid of all detail.

I'd have settled with a hiatus over this.

This special will only last till Sunday. After that Gogeta Jr and the main story will be back. And this time with new material, after the preview. It will still be Brolly but hopefully that particular fight will start to come to an end.

No, GogetaJr is not taking a break, there's new pages in the wait. I have no clue what the heck they're thinking, honestly, the upcoming mini-comic is more interesting than this specials AND the main story. There's nothing interesting coming, it's just some more "oh they are so powerful", I've been reading the pages in advance and I can guarantee you that nothing interesting is coming for at least the next two weeks. First that bullshit fight between Kat and Kakarotto, now this never-ending brolli wankery. Why? God dammit, why? Just kill him and be done with it, on to the next fight, and I really really hope that it's something interesting, I'm tired of bullshit fights.

The chance of me getting a "fuck off" in a very polite way are very high. I was part of the translation team, it's not my place to question his storytelling. Like lots of people say here, there's plenty Broli fans, and the comic seems to have more and more viewers all the time. The comment section is constantly booming with discussions. I hardly think that he's doing something wrong per se. It's just that us, as veteran fans, are expecting something more. The thing is, I actually like Broli, I used to like him more, I prefer his normal Super Saiyan state, but I feel that all this horseshit has been going on for way too long. But again, the coming is not doing bad, quite the contrary, it's doing quite well, so it's not really our place to question, is it now?

Maybe I was a bit harsh in the way I put it. I am indeed sick of this wankery, and I absolutely hated the Kat fight. I much rather have more AF than this. And I really hope for a good next fight with an interesting character. But it's not really my place to judge them or to go around pointing fingers. For us, all this is complete bullshit, but there seems to be plenty fans. We just don't like this kind of shit.

So? What`s your point? Gogeta Jr is constantly doing the pages in advance, but these specials and other stuff allow him to have more time to do the next ones and keep the last pages he has already done far from the release date.

If these specials and etc didn`t exist, sooner or later the release of the pages would caught up to his work (since this is done in his free time) and, besides giving him stress and pressure, they would have to have a forceful break in the release.

In case everybody has forgotten, this fan manga already had one break like that. Since then they have implemented these filler-type specials.

Therefore, to me, its quite obvious that these serve as pretext to give them time to do the manga at the pace they want while giving the reader something new.

This way Gogeta Jr assures that he has always a certain number of pages ready for release, while he is doing new ones, keeping away the pressure and the release date.

As for Brolly... Ya, ya... We all know it... Many people don`t like him... Whatever... He`s just one fight and it wil eventually be over.

The fight isn't progressing at all. It's just the two of them powering up for a long time. I don't care if it was a Goku vs. Vegeta fight, if it's poorly executed people won't like it.
Say "whatever" all you want. This fight has sucked balls since the beginning, and it's wonderful that we can discuss DB:M in it's own thread, and that we can express our opinion over this piece of shit fight.

Just him and everyone else who feels like whining because this isn't going the way they want it to, or can't take 5 seconds to use a few brain cells and realize this is free, made by fans, in their free time, for their own amusement, and that they are not required to bend to your every whim or sacrifice the rest of their time/life/job just so they can put the manga out faster for you.

I for one know that if you are going to do something, even if it's for free, you have to do it right.

- It's free. Sure. But money doesn't matter for me. It's a story, and even though it's free, quality has to be good too.
- Salagir and Gogeta Jr. use their free time to draw and make this fan manga for us. Well, tough shit, noone makes them to. They like the response, it's for their ego. Also, are you missing that this also gives them free promotion? It the manga makes it big on the web, Gogeta Jr. may have a future in comics/manga.
- It's made by fans. We all know it is. And we all also know that to make a good story, you shouldn't fanwank over a certain character too much, and when it comes to fanfiction, you should try to keep things more or less consistent, rather than making up things, like Broly's "invulnerability".
- They already sacrifice their free time, and their lives and jobs, but again, noone makes them to. They do it because they like it, and they like the good critisism they get, and hell, it's a nice hobby!
- If it was only for their own amusement, they wouldn't put it out in the Internet to begin with.

We people are just as intelligent as you, and we think as much as you do. The difference is that we have different opinions, because of that we are...wait for it...individuals! So us not praising their work hasn't to do with us not taking those precious 5 seconds you speak about. We already have, but your arrogance lets you think differently.
