Exactly! You'd think telling everyone the stakes would just motivate them to train even harder, so the entire concept makes no sense. Gohan's supposed to be smart, but I find most of his decisions in Super ridiculously stupid.

It's not his perspective because if he was in the other end he'd want to know and that's what would motivate him. He just didn't want it getting out because it might cause a huge panic overall. I'm not sure how much I agree with it though.
