It's not an odd reason they all agreed before leaving that they would keep the destruction thing on the hush as not to induce panic.

Not telling the fighters this big of an information is a odd thing, no matter how much of a panic it could cause..
They were fine when they basically had a person come from future and tell them they are all gonna die, they tried extra hard to win..

Which they allowed to happen when they could have stopped it.

I'm pretty sure Goku had a legitimate moral argument against that, regardless of whether you agreed or not.
In this case I'm not really understanding the moral argument. Especially when there's a huge chance all the other universes are gonna be gunning for them and they will likely reiterate the stakes at the opening of the tournament. It's sounds like they are just setting Goku up for another "oops" moment.

The character usage in this arc has been wonderful. Since the black arc ended really.

Funny that this was called the Goku and Vegeta show a arc and Vegeta has done nothing besides worry about Bulma, hold Bra, train with Whis and play baseball in the past like 15 episodes.

I don't see how buu can be anything less than the third most important character in the team..

Don't want to have this debate again, but I'm fairly certain in the manga the suggestion was made to kill Dr. Gero and Goku was responding to that from a perspective of morality. He did admit he wanted to fight the androids. I'm merely stating he has a sense of morality and isn't stupid. I'm failing to see how the choice to not tell anyone the outcome of losing makes sense in the context of the narrative? He needs everyone to put everything into it as if their life depended on it, but he doesn't tell them that their lives and everyone they know actually does depend on it?

I actually think Buu will be the first to get eliminated for shock value ! if a weak character gets eliminated first then it's too predictible and Buu already had a great moment for a side character. that's just my theory though.

How are you going to measure importance? Most wins? Most fights? Whoever lasts the longest? Whoever beats the strongest opponents? Who has the most screen time?

They have to be for the sake of plot, locating a stopping Gero from completing his creations was obviously the smart thing to do. Forget the morality thing, that was a weak excuse from the start, because Gero was not an innocent like Miles Dyson from Terminator, Miles was a good man who meant for Skynet to do good, Skynet itself is the one who choose to do the opposite, so what happened was out of Miles control. Gero was revenge obsessed, megalomaniac who was bitter that the terrorist group who was a willing member of was defeated by a single monkey boy, he was bad and purposely built murder bots to do more bad.

I don't know how you measure that. The actions that have the most improtance towards the final outcome is what everyone should consider.
