I'm happy they are taking a page out of Yu Yu Hakusho Dark Tournament book, when making the main cast feel like the villains in this arc.
That's one of the many things I liked about that Tournament and something that I wanted for the Champa arc.

Goku vs Pride Troopers is another thing I'm loving. If Goku vs Superman debates ever reached Toriyama's ears, I can see this to be his answer to that.
Besides being an obvious wake up call to people overall who think Goku is a cliché Super-Hero.

Well honestly I'm loving everything about this arc so far. I don't think a tournament arc has the potential to be the best arc of this franchise, but if they keep this up my wish for being the best tournament arc of this franchise will be fulfilled.

I don't know I find the 23rd Budokai/Piccolo Jr. Saga better than every other saga in the series.

The show can handle darkness just fine since the Future Trunks Saga is very well liked by many and some considered it up there with Z's storylines. So vocal people screaming on the internet doesn't reflect the whole fandom.

And if you don't like the fandom during super serious, then don't go to forums. It's your own fault if the fandom reaction makes you jaded towards certain storylines.

You're just making an assumption based on your personal guess. Future Trunks arc was great in the beginning and people were satisfied with the content until middle-end when writters basically sh***** in the bed. Although it's conclusion had great moments (66) at the same time it was the worse many wouldn't expect (67). In the end was the best arc we got in Super, but with no comparison with any original arcs in Z.

I don't think so, Krillin dying is so mainstream, I believe Toei will go to different route with him than pleasing meme jokes in the internet as sadly they're doing now with Yamcha.

That can pass for them making kaioken up.. it's clear they made that up, if toriyama wanted that we would get it in the manga..

In what world does that equal making KK up?
Again how is it clear? Toriyama never designed a SSG Vegeta and we got that (horrible) thing in the Manga, Toyo said he was gonna be ahead of the anime soon how's that panned out? People gladly take his word but ignore when Toriyama flat out said what Toei do to his outline.
If things overlap then we can say for sure it was in the outline if it wasn't then we can't say with certainty simple as that.

Let me rephrase that, if they can move things around, expand the outline they can add things of their own to make it happen, and kaioken not being common to both media isn't a toriyama original, like SSG Vegeta isn't a toriyama original

They werent villains, but they were seen as one, like Goku and the others.
I think he's talking about the possibility of Jiren may turn out to be like superman, like how I imagine the pride troopers are like the justice league, especially after Toppo's 24/7 Justice talk BS that makes Goku's wakuwaku BS cute.

It's not a matter of acting like Superman, but a matter of being an acclaimed Superhero like Superman and have pride on that.

That's not true. Yusuke and the others were treated like the villains in Dark Tournament arc by everyone except their friends. They were playing on enemy field, where 98% of the audience was made up of Demons that wanted them to die. Toguro's team was also the most popular one.

It's the same stuff that's happening in this arc. We know Goku and his friends aren't evil but they are seeing as such by the other Universes, while Universe 11, the main opponents, seem to be liked by everyone. It's the concept of the underrated team vs the overrated team.

I think boo will always be better as a villian but he has potential as a character if he gets his shit together. I wouldn't mind seeing some character development for him.

Buu has a fighting style which is extremely effective and fun to watch, he is pretty much immortal and has many other hax..
Just imagine buu fighting first form freeza, him vs tagoma or freeza force, he would have been a meat grinder..

Now buu trained seriously for some hours and gets a power boost and probably turns super buu, he has insane potential as a character and fighter..
Buu is pretty much death incarnation if he wants that..

The only thing stopping him form topping my character list is he is barely got any development after he became Mr buu, he is just there and works like Satan's Pokemon.

Now if he is the one making the decision to get to training and turns super buu, that's pretty much takes all my complaints away

My interest for this arc has lowered a great deal, but I do look forward to slim Boo and the Gods of Destruction and Kaioshin stuff. I’d be interesting to see how Champa will react to the plot against Goku and co., and hearing Gowasu’s thoughts on the situation.

Also, I really hope the shot shown in the manga preview of the arc that have all Gods of Destruction and Kaioshins together will happen in the anime. Otherwise, I would be very disappointed.
