That was a dub thing.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

TIL. That's cool to know. I just looked it up and it looks like the Portuguese were the first Europeans to visit Japan [1]. Therefore, "salada" as the romanization of 「サラダ」 makes the most sense, at least to me. :D

The website has updated info on these Universe 6 fighters. Frost and Hit are said to be evil that has their own agendas. So, yeah, they are not good guys based on descriptions by the website.

But Piccolo said he couldn't feel evil from him?!
If Frost turns out to be a bad guy, here goes my hope for him being something interest and different from all the others of his race. Execute him.

I thought we had confirmation that Frost didn't have any evil aura as said by Piccolo. If Frost is evil, then I do worry about Freeza clone 3.

Frost is evil? Then what's with Piccolo's line? Just to throw us off, I guess.

Yes, I would also like to see that link/confirmation about Frost & Hit being "evil". I'll be really disappointed if they go that route for Frost when the idea of a "good" emperor was actually a pretty cool one.

Couldn't you have misunderstood the part about Frost and him hiding something are just his other forms, like what we got several pages ago? Does it mention EVIL specifically?

I'll reserve my judgement of this chapter until I read a full translation. For now I'll just say I'm a bit disappointed with Kyabe's personality. Based on how he looked in the promo image I was expecting/hoping him to have more of an arrogant snobbish attitude, the type that would make cocky sarcastic remarks and humorously trash-talk his adversaries while beating the shit out of them. I'm not saying I wanted him to be a genocidal psycho like Raditz or "scouter Vegeta", just an arrogant asshole type of fighter. This new Toriyama trend of making saiyans all friendly and pacifist (Tarble, DB Minus and now Kyabe) is getting boring real fast.

I was hoping my fear would be shown in this leak but no. I'm actually still concerned. If Goku goes first and its a Baba style tournament, and Piccolo goes second with Vegeta after, not to mention Piccolo appears to not have gotten a power boost, he might get actually destroyed. I just have a bad feeling that my favorite character in the series (Piccolo), will get absolutely humiliated in front of the crowd, and with Beerus sealing the arena all they could do is watch.

The thought that the once Green badass becoming the new Yamcha absolutely horrifies me.

What's in the original, then?

From what I remember they aren't connected. Planet Vegeta being destroyed by a comet/God/Freeza and a Super Saiyajin appearing once in every thousand years. Something like that.

I remember about planet Vegeta being destroyed by a god (this story is told by Kaio), but I asked about "the original Saiyan planet". In the dub it implies that the original Super Saiyan destroys planet Salada.

Is that from GT? Because in Z there's no mention of that.

I think the only thing we have on the original planet is the Super Saiyan destroyed it which was told in the filler. I'm not sure but I think Kai cut that out and since Super is a continuation of Kai then we may get another explanation.

It was Z filler and I hate to link to the wiki but http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Original_Super_Saiyan
This is where GT's golden ape comes from.

Didn't the saiyans take over planet plant eventually? I thought that was what happened before, but we just didn't know anything about the original home world.
