In all honesty, it's great to know that Android 17 has gotten stronger and I can't wait for when he is going to spar with Goku. I've been waiting for this kind of scenario for what seems like forever. I'm hyped, Super. You better deliver.

It's made even worse by the fact that Dr Gero had no idea what happened on Namek or what a Super Saiyan even was.

17 on an interaction level has more potential than any-other character for the time being.

I don't think he'll have a rivalry with Goku, but he might be a match for SSj1-SSJ2. We should definitely see how he interacts with Krillin and 18. I expect him to be cool with the marriage. I don't think he'll make fun of Krillin at all. I was hoping he could have kept a friendly rivalry with Piccolo, but that seems unlikely. They could still be kinda bros. The rest is hard to determine. I'd say if this was Fire emblem game his supports should be Goku, 18, Krillin, Bulma, and Piccolo.

Why weren't you complaining when Piccolo stopped being useful ever since he fought 17 and Toriyama made him nothing but a baby sitter ? you're just whining now and downplaying every character who is being more hyped than him ! you're sounding very bitter and you're giving piccolo fans a bad image !

When it comes to who's hyped the most, 17's in the top 5, he's the mysterious recurring character that never had an interaction with the MC Goku, I feel like he'll really have a huge role here close to Goku's and Gohan's. Despite me not liking Vegeta, I'm not a fan of him kinda side lined, this is like Cell Boo saga vibes with Goku and Gohan's relationship intact with little to no less Vegeta, I hope he gets back into one of the main centers this arc down the road.

Why does everyone always downplay Buu saga Piccolo? He didn't fight, but I wouldn't go so far as to say he is useless. dbs Piccolo is useless though no questions there.

Well dont forget Gohan and Piccolo have meant to have been training all through the last arc till now so its fairly reasonable for him to have gotten stronger.

Edit: when it comes to #17 growing stronger, people make it sound like he's been stuck in the woods doing nothing. When not out and about story wise Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Tien and recently Krillin train in their spare time. Why would #17 magically not be allowed to do the same?

Krillin, 17, Piccolo and Tien all getting power ups off screen is ok but when it is just Krillin and 17 then it is definitely not ok.

17 coming back is not going to make Piccolo getting a bigger role easier. However, I still feel Piccolo will do better than 17.

No. 17 likes to fight and treat it as if it is a game. Not to mention he values power and takes pride in it, and even bragged countless times in the Android arc on how he’s the most powerful individual in the world. It’s not really that surprising that he would train to get even stronger after the Cell arc, especially after his utter defeat at the hands of Cell.

Nope, the interviewer specifically asked what was #17 doing after the Cell arc.

He works in the wildlife preserve area of a gigantic royal nature park, as an outstanding guard who doesn’t hold back against poachers.

It’s an ideal job for No. 17, who loves to be on his own and isn’t big on cooperating with others; since he’s so good at his job, he takes in a high salary. He’s married to a zoologist; they have one child and two adopted children, and live happily in an isolated house inside the nature park.

He went and met No. 18 and Kuririn one time, but didn’t talk about what he’d been up to, maybe because he considers such a wholesome lifestyle embarrassing.
