The movie itself reminds me of the Street Fighter movie, so it's only fitting that the game should follow suit.
That's not fair. This movie actually has the right focal character, and something of a special f/x budget. Does anyone remember what was supposedly the Hadouken in the SF movie?

Oh, and the home version of the movie game isn't that bad. The arcade version was outsourced and had a terrible engine. The home version was done by Capcom and basically played like SF II: Turbo.

Also, it seems to me all of these techniques will be fist and leg based specials. Sort of dissapointing, but alas...
I'd imagine it'd be like the Spidey games. The first two PSX games had familiar VA's, the movie games that served as successors had film actors (for the most part).
To show my appreciation, I'll only beat them half to death.

Yeah, that's why I just saw the trailer in a real movie theater.

Has anyone else noticed an influx of new people?

Back on topic, this movie looks nowhere near as bad as Street Fighter: The Movie or Mortal Kombat Annihilation.

Also, seems most people that are dissing it don't get that the Movie isn't DBZ. I swear, a good friend of mine saw the trailer and said it looked bad, and when I asked him why, he had no answer. Then he thought for a minute, and was like....

"Why is Piccolo the Villain?"
"I know it's based off a cartoon, but why is it cartoony looking?"

and so on.

I had to explain to him it was based of the end of DB and not Z, and then I had to go on to explain the changes and blah blah, and then he was like:
"Oh, ok, guess it's not that bad looking now".

YES YES AND MORE YES

This is the #1 problem I've had when discussing or trying to explain this movie to my friends who aren't in "the know" like we are here. The most annoying thing I hear from people in real life and online is "Hey did you hear about the Dragonball Z movie coming out?" I just keep telling them it's not going to be what they expect.

It's a shame that half the fanbase has no knowledge of the original.

Yes it is.

It's quite pathetic that half the complaints are from "fans" who haven't even seen the show.

This statement is hilarious. Sad but true.

While all you say may be true, keep in mind that there's still plenty of legitimate criticism for this film! =shakes fist and hobbles away=

Though, most of my nerd rage has subsided into grudging acceptance at this point.

Maybe I have very low standards, but I hardly care about any of the "bad" stuff about the movie. I personally can't wait to see the good stuff, which I know there will be. Little nuances and so on.

But no, I don't like terrible movies, and I will judge this movie accordingly after I have seen it, but I am looking on the bright side and honestly can't wait for the film.

My having separated it from the series in my head is what'll let me enjoy it. "Oh, it's heavily based off of the series, but it's in its own 'universe,' as many such adaptations tend to do these days." I can dig it.

To be honest, I have more against the dub than I ever will against the movie. That might sound hypocritical, but to me the movie is an adaption and changes are to be expected. A dub should have been an accurate translation, there's no reason to make up so much nonsense (see the Bulma's foot massage thread).

Chill dudes, I wasn't trying to put a damper on your positive attitudes or anything, since it's actually admirable in a way. I was merely responding to the "half the whiners don't understand this isn't DBZ" string of comments. While there are a lot of people like that, it shouldn't invalidate real criticism of the movie from people who know what's going down. Not that any of you think that (riiight?), just a little cranky reminder.

Oh, my comment wasn't directed at you (or anyone in particular) at all. Sorry if it came off that way.

I gotta say, Ms. A, it's a bummer you're not a bigger fan of the movie, because I (and I'm sure plenty of others) would love to see some actual fanart for it from you.

LOL, I'm sure plenty of you have already seen my "fanart" for the movie, and I'm betting we don't want to see any more of "that." Meh, we'll see what happens after the movie actually premiers.

Now that you mention it, I'd be going to see it for the exact same reasons I'm going to see DBE.

That comic made my day. Which is impressive because it's only been a day for about 20min. as of right now.

I would watch the hell out of that movie.

Also, major laffs about how "valid and good" anime is while ripping off the cheapest, trashiest anime style possible.
