Regarding the animation, exactly what is it that you guys don't like? Other than the fact that its digital and cleaner because of that I don't really see how this differs from the old animation. I prefer old cel animation more than digital is well but I don't see anything here that just looks awful. I'll admit that I prefer physical art to digital the air brush techniques look way better on the special effects than they do in digital. But that's my biggest complaint.

I think one of the things that bother me the most with the current style is the colour palette and shading. The colours are a bit too bright and they seem to like to add an extra light shade that make the skin sometimes look too shiny. Also I don't like the high-lights they use for hair now, especially when it comes to Goku :?

But I think the problem here isn't necesarry because of "new animation" but mostly because we were expecting it to look more obviously high-budget.

My main problem with the new animation is the way the characters look. They all seem very flat and don't have a lot of texture to them. I think this is because everything is very precise and all of the colours and shadows seem very solid and because of this, there doesn't seem to be any sort of transition between everything. This is mostly evident in the character's hair.
It's almost like a drawing that's been traced (I hope I explained this well).

To add to that, I also find that the eyes tend to look a little off at times. I don't know why, they just do. :?

They also seem to rush long shots, but I can forgive that. :P

But all of this doesn't mean I dislike it. I love the backgrounds, I think the movement is very fluid and I love some of the CG effects. So overall, it's not perfect, but it's good enough.

New movies sucked..

Even the bardock special could have been better, but females arent best at creating content that are for males. What can I say. You forum dwellers are far too fanatic. I love DBZ more than all of you combined, but I know when to say, "this sucks", but you guys bend over and take it regardless just because of the name DBZ
Deadman Wonderland. Nuff said.

Anyways, I like the animation personally. But that's just me.
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

Also, they seem so slow and stiff. If this is a huge higher budget work, where's the fluidity from before? I just feel as though they put all their effort into Film Z instead of Battle Of Gods, which is a shame.

I mean even the JSAT special looked better than this...

There's no real way to recover from this, so I'll just ask that you all continue doing exactly what you've (rightfully) already set out to do -- continue the conversation in the best way you can with your fellow fans.

(Clean-up on asile eight for Mike, though. Yikes.)

Thanks for banning him. I don't know if it was part of his trolling process, but when people repeatedly order others how to think ("stop liking every piece of filth Toei puts out" or "you are too fanatical") is one of my pet peeves.

I personally like Bils/Virus/Birusu's design. It's very different... which seems to be a point of criticism for some people--I don't really underestand that. Yeah! Let's have another villain with Saiyan armor! Really? Why is uniqueness taken so offensively?

Whis/Uisu's design is great. I think he perfectly exemplifies a modern Dragon Ball style.

I think Bils looks great! I love most things about him, and he really reminds me of an older Dragon Ball villain (something you'd find in the first few volumes). I like Whis, but I don't like him quite as much as Bils.

I totally agree with you. I think most people don't like the fact that he's a skinny villian in a universe pretty much dominated by big buff dudes. I honestly think it's a nice change of pace.

That art is great XD Yeah, Neko Majin Z must be as strong as Bils.
If Toriyama continues the Nekomajin series on this occasion, I'd like to see Goku as a martial arts master training his two students Nekomajin Z and Uub.

I wonder if this will be a ''seasonal movie?'' and what I mean by that is, Do you folks have any favorite Dragonball movies, or Dragonball Z movies, that you love to watch in different seasons of the year? I love watching the original DB movies around Halloween because of scary looking characters like him

and I love watching Super Android 13 every winter :P I really need to make a list and put them in order :P
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128
Still recording Toonami broadcasts on VHS after all these years!

That's a great idea.

I, myself, tend to associate a lot of the Dragon Ball movies with Christmas, as I would tend to receive them as gifts. Ahh... good times. :)

Movie 11 is great. Trunks and Goten are entertaining, and Bio-Broly performs great moves. And it's cool to see characters returning from Movie 10 like Maloja. Also, it's good to see humans as villains again, not another character coming from outer space, and a giant character as the "final boss". The only problem we might see is that they reuse Broly once again. But it makes sense for a guy who tries to create the ultimate warriors via bio-engeneering to use Broly's blood. Also, the film develops Mr. Satan's backstory with the introduction of a longtime (childhood) rival, and the humour is there once again, as this martial arts rival is a short man.

It's not the first time Egypt-related things are used in Dragon Ball: remeber Mummy Man? And the several pyramids shown in the General Blue Saga and Saiyan Saga??

Movie 11 was terrible in my opinion because it was boring and the movie was just lazy. They could have used more original ideas instead just milking the same character again. Mr. Satan's backstory was nice, but that's about it in my opinion.

What's the last Egypt-related thing that we saw in any pop media. The last movie I can think of was The Scorpion King which was 10 years ago. So what are you talking about?

Yeah, my only gripe with it is the fact that they re-use Broli yet again, but what you say makes sense.
The thing is, with this movie you kind of have to think outside the box and enjoy the movie for what it is besides Broli. It's a nod to old B-series horror movies. And it's great at what it is. How many times in Dragon Ball was the true villain simply sentient slime? None.

You guys are missing the point, he is right on that. The Illuminati and Egyptian are related. And we've had The Da Vinci Code which kinda deals with that, the National Treasure series which also kind of deals with that plus games and stuff. It's kinda subtle at times but the references are there. I understand what he meant, but it's still good to see Dragon Ball deal with it, it brings fresh air into the franchise.
