What if he is? That doesn't necessarily have anything to do with him having an opposing opinion; him being a fan of the Kai dub is influenced BY the fact that he thinks Colleen is better, not the other way around.

But I know in some regards you do follow the dub, where both Nadoly's and Colleen's voice stayed the same, so it will be interesting which route he takes

PS, 29 was great :D
Colleen actually deepens her voice as Gohan aged.
Whoops, you're right, just checked a Youtube clip to be sure. To be honest I had bad initial impressions on her at first because her performance in Raging Blast 2 seemed rather off to me but after giving Kai a chance I've really warmed up to her.

I honestly hope that, in episode 30, Team Four Star play Goku's Super Saiyan transformation straight and dramatic. At the very least, it'll give Krillin a bone for once, if Goku actually feels grief and considers him a friend.

Y'know, I'm going to do some ballsy predictin' here. Episode #30 will probably open with some scenes from Dragon Ball. Scenes of Gokuu and Kuririn actually being friends so that a genuine connection can be made when the transformating happens in the middle or end of the episode. Of course, that's probably not going to happen, but hey, who knows?

EDIT: LOL, 'transformating'.

I'm just hoping that MasakoX can possibly put a little grit in the voice when he's Super Saiyan just to give the performance a somewhat new feel to it.

I can't wait to see how Abridged-Goku will act as a Super Saiyan compared to his character beforehand. Even if it's the same way he's always acted, it doesn't matter. It's just the waiting to find out one way or another that has me worked up and anxious.

I wonder if there is going to be a gag behind it, like the champion of Christmas/False SSJ one. If they do, it'll be kinda hard to keep it going through the rest of the series, depending on what it is of course.

What would be funny is if he turns into a complete jerk as a Super Saiyan, which would stick throughout the Androids arc until he and Gohan become Full-Power Super Saiyans during the Cell arc. Along with that gained control and reduced stress would be a return to Goku's light-hearted goofy attitude.

(Hope I didn't jinx anything)

I like his voice acting, he's my favourite Goku in fact.

I am far from a Funimation fanboy and like Schemmel's Goku voice. I may not be that fond of his acting as Goku, though it seems to have gotten better from the Kai clips I've seen, but I do like the voice for him.

I agree.

Schemmel's acting in DBZ's dub was considerably amateur (imo) and the cheesy lines they had didn't help his voice acting neither.

He definitely improved a lot in the Z Kai dub, though. And he finally knows how to pronounce Kaio-ken properly. :)

Weren't all the Funimation's voice actors/actresses amateurs when they were hired. I think it was something about cost.

^ Yes, they were basically all amateur.

I like Masako's Goku because it sounds like Nozawa and Schemmel combined. I like both of their performances, and Masako brings them together.

Masako's Goku? Yes. Very yes.
Masako's Gohan? I think people are forgetting the difference between a parody and a serious dub again.
Blah, I'm starting to wonder how Kara Edwards would have handled Gohan. :P
I swear, when I get stuck with a prepubescent voice after a tragic timetravel-related accident, I'm taking acting lessons.

(Having said all of that, I really like Masako's Gohan. :) I'm just not convinced it'd work so well in a serious dub as his Goku would.)

MasakoX is more of a combination with Nozawa Masako and Peter Kelamis (Ocean Goku).

Peter Kelamis imitating Masako Nozawa: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QtsM5LKoJPQ (2:30)

Schemmel doesn't belong anywhere near them.

It's sad when a "serious dub", "official dub" (well it's the official dub of English Kai because Ocean Kai hasn't yet shown up and I'm starting to wonder...), "definitive dub" is inferior to a parody dub.

Out of all the adult Son Goku English dub actors Peter Kelamis is probably my favorite. Of course I am also a fan of his stand up comedy work too so maybe that is coloring my perception :). Be that as it may MasakoX is in top form as usual with Team Fourstar's awesome iteration. I am also really looking forward to how they will put their spin on the transformation scene from the anime. It was probably one of the more dramatic ones of the series so that means they have their work cut out for them.
