The shape in the PV didn't match Jiren either so it was likely intentional misdirection. If they had changed it that late in production they would have had to throw everything they had of 82 out the window and had they done that that late in production the episode would have come out looking really poor. The episode relies heavily on Toppo himself, his personality and his fighting style, so they would have had to do heavy rewrites to the script and redo the storyboard, not just start over on animation. People are REALLY jumping the gun on Caulifla, the two designs could simply two different characters or she just changes her outfit. This fan base has gotten really, REALLY bad about jumping to conclusions. She's appeared a grand total of one time, and that one time isn't even at the tournament, so there is no reason for people to be jumping to the conclusion that the design we saw first won't be in the show.
