Curious if there is something more glaring in the game.

It can make or lose an interaction but that depends on the person I guess.
Someone like me who was never hot on the whole to DBZA it takes more than it adds.

It's like Cell only being like a newborn by the time he's killed by Gohan or still being a fetus, when Trunks and Krillin kill him off in the main timeline.Grimlock wrote:Huh... What's going on here?![]()

This game is utterly amazing, and everything I could have dreamed it to be! Bought the Ultimate Edition on PC and the vanilla PS4 version for access to both player bases because I’m going to be a playing the ever-livin’ fuck out of this game.
Anyone care to for some potential lobbying/matchups sometime? I don’t see a thread for sharing gamertags, but if any fellow Kazenshuu’ers here would like to give my 18/Black/Beerus a go and/or practice learning other characters, you can add me on Steam @DarkPhenixChaos and PSN @razersaw36
Unfortunately I’m stuck on a wireless Verizon hotspot for internet, so performance seems to vary in regard to lag at times (No other internet options where I live atm). But that netcode sure is damn good either way, ain’t it? XD

So the story mode has different cutscenes depending on what characters you use? I'm seeing completely different cutscene matchups then in my game, like all these new Yamcha cutscenes I didn't know existed.
Damn...so I guess there's no way to see every story cutscene in one playthrough? I also never saw Cell meeting the two Buu's in my story. How can we see them all?

I'm seeing some user "reviews" across the web since it's finally hit retail, and the majority of them are complaining that it's massively underwhelming and that they'd rather be playing Budokai Tenkaichi.
Did I miss something? I loved the series when it first came out, but when I revisited it last year, nothing about it held up, and I'm not talking about the graphics. The entire presentation feels antiquated. I'm really not trying to go down the "LAWL CASUALS" route because I hate that reaction, but it seems like they've just got nostalgia boners.

Her backstory is a little messy with all the info drops. Cell and #16 state that she was created similarly to the green bug, by combining the DNA from multiple beings. But there are other portions that kind of imply she was originally a human base, similarly to 17 & 18, that was modified in the above manner. So it wouldn't surprise me if the technically 10 years old thing is just her "rebirth" as an Artificial Human age.Doctor. wrote:No, her model was based on a mother.Grimlock wrote:But she's a mother...(a legit one, not like Cell with his Cell Juniors).

Where are you reading these opinions from? I've heard nothing but praise for the game from professional game critics, Dragon Ball fans and casual and hardcore fighting game fans about this being not only being the best Dragon Ball game ever released but also one of the best fighting games in many years. The S wrote:I'm seeing some user "reviews" across the web since it's finally hit retail, and the majority of them are complaining that it's massively underwhelming and that they'd rather be playing Budokai Tenkaichi.

Where was it implied she had a human base? I think it's pretty clear she was made like Cell, it's even stated pretty explicitly. It makes sense too, considering that if they just modified her old human body, she'd probably look much older.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Her backstory is a little messy with all the info drops. The only thing I find confusing is how they got Boo's DNA, they never explained that, at least from the cutscenes I've seen. Android 21 has been around for 10 years and they couldn't have used Kid Boo's cells considering he'd just regenerate if there were any left (like Gohan said in one of the interactions). Did they get Mr. Boo's DNA somehow?

They probably did, i mean, last time i checked, kid Buu couldn't turn people into chocolate or candy, furthermore, he didn't even cared about eating and stuff like that; only destruction, that's it.Doctor. wrote:Did they get Mr. Boo's DNA somehow?

You have to do several playtrough to get every cutscene interaction. Which means replaying value with different teams.precita wrote:So the story mode has different cutscenes depending on what characters you use? Plus, he turns people into candy and eats them as a move in this game.

Love this game so far (especially those interactions in the story mode (Japanese Voice Option)), but I have some troubles with the Combo Challenges in Practise Mode.
For example Gohan (Adult) Nr.8:
X (Standing Unique Attack)
Triangle + O (Vanish)
Left-Up + Triangle (Ultimate Back Attack (Medium))
Right-Up + R1 (Potential Unleashed)
No matter what I do, the Ultimate Back Attack (Medium) just won't connect. I tried multiple timings, watched vids, where it is shown how to do, but - it - just - won't - work...
Compared to that the Training Lessons in XV2 are childsplay (had no problems there at any time).

Any time somebody would say that FighterZ is a completely different kind of game and not really comparative, they get ridiculed, too.

As far as logical sense goes, before she was turned into an android, she had to be something, otherwise she wouldn't even exist, let alone have a child.

Not just that one. Here too. I'm fairly certain I remember her saying more in different interactions, however that was before I knew cutscenes could be influenced by characters. I should have kept track of everything better, but after that I just started watching and taking notes without remembering what videos they came from.

She still existed as Dr. Gero's wife, the mother of the model for #16 and the person who would become the model for #21; she just doesn't have any memories of that time just like #16 doesn't because they're not the same people. That's what I thought she was talking about. She still refers to herself as being "created" instead of something more appropriate like "modified." Cell and evil #21 pretty much confirm she was a cultivated life-form like Cell, though I guess she could have just been modified with different DNA the moment her human body was turned into a cyborg; I guess that's a possibility too.Grimlock wrote:Here.Doctor. wrote:Where was it implied she had a human base?

Still, I think it's more believable she was created than think the supercomputer had the ability to abduct a human person, modify their body to turn them into a cyborg (and presumably make them look a lot younger since Gero's wife should have been around Gero's age) and implant them with different DNA.

In the screen I posted, she states she used to be human in the same manner characters like #17 & #18 describe themselves, not based on a human the same way she describes #16. Presumably, if her DNA was modified, her true form is the only "design" that was being worked on for the project, while human appearance is how she chooses to disguise herself with her malleable body. Possibly in order to appear how the inspiration for #16 would remember her (if he could), as the guy should have died long, long ago.
Not only is her backstory messy, but the years for events to transpire as described don't quite line up either. It's all guesswork on how to make sense of it all, unless it's just the translation that's to blame.
