I always liked the tone on the bass in the credits theme. Nothing really incredible going on there (and nothing to do with DB), but it has that going for it.nathantheguitarist wrote: And there's this retardation from the UUE's that can also go to hell.![]()

I'm glad to know that you apparently know what other people's opinions actually are.DemonRin wrote:No, the Faulconer music "Sounds Better" because that's what you guys grew up with, so that's what sounds good to you.
If you grew up where this version aired, you'd be making the opposite claim right now.
The only openings to Dragon Ball Z are "CHA-LA HEAD CHA-LA" and "WE GOTTA POWER". Period.
No, Cha-La Head Cha-La and We Gotta Power only sound better to you because it's the original, so you automatically like it better.DemonRin wrote:No, the Faulconer music "Sounds Better" because that's what you guys grew up with, so that's what sounds good to you.

How about we don't try to tell people the reasons why they like stuff?Taku128 wrote:No, Cha-La Head Cha-La and We Gotta Power only sound better to you because it's the original, so you automatically like it better.DemonRin wrote:No, the Faulconer music "Sounds Better" because that's what you guys grew up with, so that's what sounds good to you.

Yay logic that can be reversed!

That was the point of my post. DemonRin made assumptions that people only like Fauconer's music because they grew up with it, and that the only true DBZ openings are Head Cha La and We Gotta Power, so I reversed it and made the assumption that she only likes Head Cha La and We Gotta Power because it's in the original.Big Momma wrote:How about we don't try to tell people the reasons why they like stuff?Taku128 wrote:No, Cha-La Head Cha-La and We Gotta Power only sound better to you because it's the original, so you automatically like it better.DemonRin wrote:No, the Faulconer music "Sounds Better" because that's what you guys grew up with, so that's what sounds good to you.

Except you can't reverse that logic, because, yes, they were in the original, and thus they were the intended OPs.Taku128 wrote:I reversed it and made the assumption that she only likes Head Cha La and We Gotta Power because it's in the original.

The only way to truly end such arguments is to shut down Daizenshuu EX forever...bkev wrote:Goodbye thread.
Man I'm getting sick of this.
So that automatically makes it better music? Nobody has mentioned Faulconer's opening being better in the context of the show, only that they think it sounds better.penguintruth wrote:Except you can't reverse that logic, because, yes, they were in the original, and thus they were the intended OPs.Taku128 wrote:I reversed it and made the assumption that she only likes Head Cha La and We Gotta Power because it's in the original.
I find the Falconer opening far less embarrassing to listen to than that other opening. I mean, shit. The Falconer opening at least sounds like it had some thought put in to it. The other one is just some guy and Aquaman shouting in to a mic.Kunzait_83 wrote:That was the pile of shit I was thinking of as well.Bura wrote:I was talking about this one, actually.

Because of the sense of joy and adventure it has, instead of just, "RAWK TIME! HERE'S SOME ACTION RAWK, KIDS! TOTALLY HARDCORE!"Rocketman wrote:How? I honestly cannot comprehend this.Supa Saiya-Jin Tullece wrote:Head-Cha-La ... still better, though. Leagues better.

Though she doesn't live in Texas, I still think Sandy Fox would've been better. For those not familar, here's an example:penguintruth wrote:Cha-La, Head Cha-La absolutely does have to do with the show, it's about the sense of wonder present throughout the series. Even though Z is mostly a combat show, it still retains elements of the earlier DB story, with travelling to a different planet, meeting all kinds of gods and wizards, etc.
They probably could've come up with an English version for an opening, but they preferred turning it into some brainless American cartoon with AWESOME ROCK. I can't argue that it didn't work, but it was still pretty cynical.
You're telling me we can't get Vic Mignogna to sing the Filipino dub movie version of Cha-La, Head Cha-La?
I'm honestly curious about this too. As much as I love Head-Cha-La as a song, I don't think it has anything to do with the series outside of mentioning the letter Z and the Genki Dama. Head-Cha-La would be way more fitting for early Dragon Ball, although Makafushigi Adventure already perfectly fits it.Rocketman wrote:What "joy and adventure" is there in DBZ?penguintruth wrote:Because of the sense of joy and adventure it has, instead of just, "RAWK TIME!
