Well, at least it's confirmed that the DVD's will be uncut. And we don't know if 4kids will be using the same Nicktoons edits or possibly go even further with edits.

But jesus christ, if they edit even further it will be like Saban 2.0, hell, maybe even worse.

Edits to be expected:
1. Piccolo's beam missing Raditz and Goku by several feet, but still managed to kill them.
2. Shadow realm OR Goku has been summoned to another planet to train with King Kai, with digitally erased Halos.
3. Tien's arm will be painted back on.

I honestly do not expect it to be any more censored/edited than it is for Nicktoons broadcast. Which is still a lot, considering that Kai is already censored.

No wonder the shots were so edited on the Nicktoons cut... I figure they're gonna use the same broadcast cut. Anyone getting a '96 vibe here with the joint project? Also, this might explain the "crappy Canadian music" Sean Schemmel mentioned on facebook at one point.

Oh no... 4kids is involved?!

The CW Dub will probably contain the following:

Kamesen'nin's lines will be redubbed to give him an old Prospector Accent, and he'll constantly remark about how there must be "Gold in them hills!"
Bulma will be given an INCREDIBLY thick Valley girl accent, and will like, throw like, the word Like in like, every like other like word like
Piccolo redubbed to have an Irish accent (because he's Green)
All Saiyans will have a thick Russian Accent (Except Son and Gohan, since they weren't raised with the rest of them)
Freeza will get a Cockney Accent.
They're going to cut EVEN MORE story out than there already is with seemingly no reason. Probably important things too, like Son's Training with Kaio. There will be an oft explanation later that "I got better! while I was in the magical Happy land that's totally not the afterlife"
Goku is too Japanese, he and Gohan are gonna be renamed "Greg" and "Garett". Chichi will be renamed "Christine", Roshi will be "Master Ralph".
Piccolo will be called "Piccoro"

The reason 4kids loves accents so much is because they really only have four guys doing the voices for everybody. They need something distinguishing for each character.

We're also probably going to be hearing a LOT more over the top, anime lines. During the beam struggle with Vegeta, I fully expect Goku to say something like "I'm putting the will of all my friends into this one attack! KAIO KEN TIMES 3!"

I love how everyone in this thread is freaking out for no reason. Yeah, the show is going to air on a channel owned by 4kids, so what? The show was already being heavily edited for Nicktoons, this literally changes nothing.

Are they? That's really not the impression I'm getting at all. I see a lot of the same cautious thoughts toward an edited version that anyone should have. If you want to see freaking out for no reason, try looking on some other message boards. Not naming names, of course. A gentleman doesn't sleep and tell. Glad to see we rise above that, though. Speaks volumes about the genuine fanbase, me thinks.

I think I understand where Taku is coming from. Why should anyone thing anything of the integrity of an edited broadcast version. We'll obviously still have our version.

Although, I really hope Mr. Shemmel was wrong about the "crappy music from Canada." There's no reason to change the music at this point.

No, this isn't the good news. Far from it.

How does this news change anything? I thought everyone got this out of their system when we learned the series was going to be aired on NickToons and saw some of the edits, but I guess not. And like Inna said, this edited version doesn't change the fact that the DVDs and Blu-rays are completely unedited. If your hatred for 4kids is so seething that you want to physically injure yourself then just don't watch it.

I have NickToons but I guess I'll check this out. It seems interesting at best. I really think that all they'll do is put the NickToons broadcast on TheCW4Kids. If it's no different from the NickToons broadcast then I won't mind. But if it's more censored like no Farmer w/ Shotgun, then we have a problem.

I wonder if funimation cut a deal that Kai will air on the 4kids block but there will be edited dvd's that will be put out by 4kids or at the very least they get a piece of the money from edited dvd's.

That's why I bring up the point that Kai's censorship may be as extreme as taking Bardock's scar away because it'll be on CW 4Kids as opposed to the idea that it'll be anymore censored there than on Nicktoons.
