Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Hm. And according to Kanzentai Dragon Box GT has a running time of approximately 1600 minutes. 64 episodes plus bonus features? Whats in Dragon Box GT that wasn't in the green bricks?

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Just before speculation gets out of hand, doesn't Funimation also make a habit of releasing complete series sets of shows which are only a season or two long? I feel like they've done that with Full Metal Alchemist and some other series, but I don't really keep up with anime or the rest of their releases.
If so, this could simply be some cheap-o repackage just to fill out their catalogue.

Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

I'm sure it's a Dbox, but 'guess time will tell. If it is, we can only count down until the final Dragon Box!TonyTheTiger wrote:Hm. Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Instant buy if it is indeed the DBGT-Dragonbox.
Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
I'm still skeptical this a Dragon Box but I hope it's true. The best thing about a GT Box would be the greatly increased odds of DragonBall and movie Dragon Boxes.
I want to believe.

Even though it's most likely gonna be the season sets put together I still think it could be the Dragon Box...

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Hmm... I've got around to thinking... What if FUNimation makes a GT Dragon Box with their original GT footage? Wasn't the footage of the GT singles very close to the Dragon Boxes, minus some dirt and encoding issues? Perhaps they are making their own Dragon Box style release, with their own copies of the Japanese title cards and next episode previews and whatnot. Perhaps they aren't calling it the "GT Dragon Box" due to it not being authentic Dragon Box footage?
Season Set:

FUNimation Single:

Dragon Box:

I mean, it seems very unlikely, but it is possible isn't it? It still would be strange if it were a simple repackage which wouldn't save any money, so that would make more sense if it wasn't to be a straight up Dragon Box...
Also, slightly off-topic, but wasn't there a second GT season 2 on Amazon a while back which seemed to remove "A Hero's Legacy"? Was that ever released, or was it a listing error?

I'm starting to doubt it's the Dragon Box now. I can get the 2 Green brick boxes brand new for around 15 pounds each, so, maybe I'll just by them. Hopefully they get some images up!

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Why would they pack the 2 green bricks together and then sell it for more than the 2 seperately?
They released orange and blue bricks at the same time didnt they, or close to it? I'm sure they could release 2 Dragonboxes at once, especially if they are giong to do Gt in just one box. Could THAT be why its so expensive? Like a bigger box for GT to fit everything in one shot?

That's the best point I've seen for it so far, if it's not the Dragon Box I'm gonna hit someone.LeprikanGT wrote:Why would they pack the 2 green bricks together and then sell it for more than the 2 seperately?

Has anyone tried contacting Rightstuf? Or wouldn't they be allowed to say anything?

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Is it really that much more expensive? I think people are only looking at the marked-down prices on Amazon and such (where both the first and second sets are $18.99). The two green bricks' MSRP is $34.98. This new package's MSRP is $69.98.
~$35 + ~$35 = ~$70. Huh. Funny how that works out.

Yeah, I definitely noticed that when looking on Rightstuf!'s website, so I was curious as to where everyone was getting that.VegettoEX wrote:Is it really that much more expensive? Still, it seems a bit weird if they repackage both sets for the exact same price...

It would be almost impossible that they do that for the exact same price.Metalwario64 wrote:Still, it seems a bit weird if they repackage both sets for the exact same price...

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
Thinking about this in the morning I was trying to figure out why here would be 100 extra minutes. Approximate running times never factor in bonus features, it's for the main title only, so something would have to be up. How long are NEPs? Couldn't that factor in to the extra running time? I know the Green Bricks didn't have them, unlike the single release. Just a thought.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:Well it can't just be the 2 season sets because the running time doesn't match up. And that even includes the movie!
What specials did the GT box have? It's only like 100 minutes missing.

Re: Dragon Ball GT Complete Series set?
To be honest I never looked at the prices since I'm on a DSi so I took it for granted that they knew what they were talking about... But charging the exact same amount for both boxes put together is rather odd.

I do hope it's the Dragon Box, but didn't Funi announce they had the rights to only the Dragon Box Z and the movies?
