Not gonna happen. Dragonball is too long and thick to have a new story that's not repeating what it's already had.
You're joking, right?
I'd be glad to be proven wrong.
"Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors and Dragon Ball Z Supersonic Warriors 2.
In both games each playable character have a If Story mode. In the first game in Piccolo If mode we see a story where Piccolo survives the battles and more in the end he wish Piccolo Daimaio back to life so he can fuse with in and have his full power so he can battle Majin Buu. Well just one example but the games are full with new story for the series.
And I may be wrong but Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai: Another Road for PSP you play a story mode in Future Trunks time line. This game a never played the story mode or bother to read the full script in the internet but as far as I know the Story that could be very fun is not.

So yeah I belive that new games can have new plots for the story mode."

This post by KND fell to the glitch, so here it is.

The point Rocketman is trying to make is that even though those stories are "different" they aren't new. They all borrow from the original story. For example Piccolo fusing to defeat a powerful villain; this is identical to his fusion with Kami only with a darker twist.

Unfortunately for Dragonball games, they have kind of hit a dead end. Basically developers are damned if they do damned if they don't, when it comes to story mode. I personally don't want one, I've seen it too many times that really going through a story mode these days is a chore. However, Raging Blast 2 got slammed by almost every review I read because it didn't have a story mode.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

I love the "what if?" stories but even that is not enough to carry an entire single player campaign. Unless of course they go the route of Dragonball Online and try to create a whole new story or sequel. Yet with said game following that path and treading a lot of ground with it, a new story being made for each new game is unlikely. Instead game developers who wish to create a game for the Dragonball franchise will have to come up with interesting new ways to make a single player mode fresh. Of course that would need to tread through events in the actual storyline. :? The franchise has pretty much struck a wall in that regard, so maybe a single player experience needs to be replaced by an arcade style, co-op game mode that explores little used concepts in the series.

And that villain is Majin Buu. It's not a 'totally fresh and unique' story, just a little twist on the old one.

I think the story mode in "Attack of the Saiyans" did a good job. In that game they filled several holes in the story with something new and creative. Finally, we see what everyone did to become stronger prior to the 23º Tenkaichi Budokai.

For example, one of them trained with Mutaito, etc. That's what a story mode must be -- everyone doing trainings that nobody had seen before (eventually using evidence from the manga or from the guides) while offering some choices which affect the story or multiverses. Yes, multiverses where things become different using elements presented in the story.

Apart from that, I think you should be free to pick the path you want to your character. For example, things like mystic or majin power ups should be available to everyone in the Z crew. Why not? Create a character would be a good choice even if some hardcore fans don't like it.

In games like Pro Evolution Soccer or NBA or Fight Night Round (?) you can create your character. Why not in a DBZ game? The story mode in Raging Blast 3 should cover the whole story from early DB until DBGT.

I still don't understand why characters like Rilddo or Redic weren't part of the story mode in BT3.

Goku, Gohan and Goten don't have any evil to be Majinized. Mystic Vegeta, Piccolo and Trunks would look identical to their regular selves.

In theory yes,but this is a game.I'm pretty sure everyone would love to have a Majin Goku.It would be like Dark Ryu.

Goten and Goku still can be Mystic, can't they?Majin Piccolo,Majin Tenshinhan or Majin Krillin would be way better than Majin Yamu or Spopovitch. We could have a Majin crew in the story mode.
Mystic Vegeta, Piccolo and Trunks would look identical to their regular selves
The main point here it would be the power up.Regardless they still could use the mystic outfit which is very cool by the way.

The DragonBall crew has delt with basically every type of villian theres is, from crazy super beings like dragon gods(Shadow Dragons) and the very incarnation of evil(Boo/Janemba) to the very basic bad army men(Red Ribbon Army) and giant monsters(Hildegarn) just to name a few examples.

Now "Majinizing" or giving the "Ultimate power up" to characters that havent had it before seems fun and all but it really isnt all that different from SSJ3 Broly and Vegeta and Spike was too lazy to give either of them a story.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Attack of the sayans gave us a good story,so spike just needs to follow the good example.
I think Vegeta ssj3 or Broly SSj3 is different, after all the other characters could become mystic or majin in the original story and change everything.

Maybe RB3 can give every character a What If story mode like they did with the first SW game. They need to be very creative though with characters like Omega or SSj4 Gogeta though.

Can you really do that with over one hundred characters, though?

I'd love for it to happen, but I don't think it will.

They could be selective about it, kind of like how they did it in Budokai 3.

I think it might be possible to do a good section of characters for the story mode. Budokai 3 story mode was limited since Dimps never had the time to finish it since they wanted all 40 characters to have a story mode.

I think they need to focus on the Z-gang: Saiyajin, Piccolo, the humans and some villains, of course. It is quite feasible.
