The real reason you can't have a GT Kai?

Because GT's already paced like a normal show.

Perhaps he wasn't being literal when he said "GT Kai." Maybe he meant "rewritten and re-dubbed from the ground up."

Which is crazy, but still.

I could see it now! Dragon Ball GT Kai! No filler, and completely accurate to the manga! That's right! FUNimation currently has the whole thing completed already! You get a total of 0 minutes of footage in a two disc set!

When did 'Kai' mean no filler? Apparently it means revised/refreshed. Refreshed GT sounds good to me.

I think it's unnecessary. GT's pacing and animation are already really good. I'm all for a FUNi redub, but I doubt it will happen.

Hopefully 0.

Seriously though, I think DB needs the Kai treatment far more than GT does.
This and only this. I've said this from the beginning that DB needed the Kai Treatment.

Mr. Schemmel was making a joke. There will be no actual "GT Kai."

Just making sure everyone's clear on that, since I can't tell if some of you are still taking it seriously or not.

That is kind of a cruel joke, though. Especially with this fandom.

Well, I checked both Sean's and Funi's twitters, and saw no retraction of any kind, and the way he said it did not come off as a joke at all. In fact, his second post seemed to suggest he didn't like how fast it spread, and that he would "no longer be revealing any DBZ related info here". He didn't say joke, he said info. So, until he says it's a joke, I'm going to say, at bare minimum, it's at least an idea being discussed, even if it's no where near beginning or 100% certain.

I could see his "no more news" post as a way of confirming his GT Kai was fake. He could have just thrown that out there as an experiment and saw it was everywhere in just a few minutes and made his decision to stop talking about DBZ.

It was probably an experiment to see if people gave a shit about him or were just using his Twitter to mine for DBZ info.

And, of course, predictably, it was the latter. Which makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.
