Back when the DVD for the second version of the end of Trunks' initial visit to the main timeline (the version that included the 2 awesome filler episodes that were left out of the original release), I went to Suncoast and purchased a (used) copy of the new version. I popped in the disc, only to discover that it was the three episode version instead of the five episode version (my guess is that someone who already had the first version switched it and sold it back to Suncoast in the DVD case for the second version....bastards). So then I was stuck with another copy of something I already had, but with a misleading case. I later resold the disc on eBay (being honest about the fact that the case was incorrect), and bought a NEW version of the disc I'd been trying to obtain all along. I ordered it from Funimation directly, and got some bonus Burger King toys in the process, so in the end it wasn't so bad....

Wow.... how is that even possible?
Smash it with a hammer a couple times... It's not really that hard :P

Well yeah, if it was deliberate.... but why would the seller just flush $1000 down the toilet if that was the case?

Of course you would. You have an at least tolerable version of the series to watch. ^^;; It's like how Mr. VegettoEX says about how he doesn't care about how bad the Funimation dub may be, to him, he still has bilingual DVDs with the version he's okay to watch. It's not like that's the only one you have. @_@ You can have it as a luxury, for shits and giggles, whereas we have it as the only way to buy DragonBall legally in the UK.
Can't we order the Dragon Boxes?
Check out the episode of the podcast about fandom and legality in fandom. It's discussed there that importing from other countries is a pretty grey area. I meant that the Big Green movies were the only fully legal way we in the UK could buy DVDs, as they'd be the only DVDs you could buy in the UK itself.

And as far as I was aware, no, the Big Green movies WEREN'T bilingual. It was just that movie. (Mind you, it's been a while, and one of the movies I had was VHS, so of course it wouldn't be.)

Really? Because I've imported stuff from other countries before. I've imported Viz's Dragon Ball manga from the USA and I've heard of other people who've imported games from other countries. All completely legal.

As I said, check out Episode 190 of the podcast, and see what I mean. It's not undoable, and it's not like we're going to be arrested for theft for importing (Hell, I have lots of CDJapan CDs, and over half my anime is Region 1), but it's a grey area of ethics and legality.

Taiketsu used for $7. That thing was horrible. I tried to sell it at a yard sale, but then my mom moved it and it got stolen by some kid. I knew that it was this particular one because he was pressing his parents to buy it. Anyways, it was his friggin loss.

DragonBall Z: The True Martial Arts Legend for Saturn kind of bummed me out. I wanted to like that game so bad but I hated the AI. It was one of those things where the computer spams an attack over and over and over again and the health bar drains extremely fast. The presentation was magnificent and I couldn't tell how hard/cheap it was from screenshots. I stopped playing it out of rage and haven't picked it back up. I REALLY want to like this game but it just won't let me. It looks and sounds magnificent.

I remember buying a few singles from Funi when I was younger and being kind of disappointed about the overall quality. (Except the subs, those were great.)

Now that I think about it, when I bought Budokai 3 again I was a little disappointed. The box looked like it had been stepped on, and had three holes in it. A manual also wasn't included and it wasn't the platinum edition either, so no Piccolo Daimao and Trunks w/ Long Hair. I regret selling my original copy of Budokai 3.

- DBZ VizBigs. I noticed the edits right away. Color pages can't make up for that. I already had the SJ "graphic novels", and I thought these would be unedited.
- Budokai Tenkaichi 1. They were obviously selling us an incomplete game. 2 & 3 made up for this in so many ways.
- Harukanaru Densetsu. I actually liked the game, but HATED HATED HATED the save system.
- Once the Dragon Boxes were announced for R1, I immediately tried to get rid of my Z Season Sets.
- Dragon Ball "Best Song Collection". My first anime CD purchase, found out years later that it was a bootleg.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Oh right, that reminds me, I regret buying several items that turned out to be bootlegs, including wall scrolls and a Cooler figure. Among other things that I've likely forgotten.

I actually liked Sparking! when I first bought it. Not anything to write home about, but I had some fun. It was only when I played Sparking! NEO and METEOR that the original seemed bad in comparison.

But would it have been any less embarrassing had it been the Funi dub?

Well, considering the English dub was all I knew at that point, it would definitely be better then XD
