I loved the driving episode as well, even though it raised a few questions. why didn't Chi Chi ask her son or husband to teach her how to fly? Or even take the nimbus so her feet don't hurt? She can ride on it.

Well judging by how terrified she was at how high Videl carried her while she flew in GT, perhaps she may have a bit of a fear of heights? Or maybe I'll just fall back on the explanation for must inconsistencies and say "plothole". :|

You guys are overlooking something, I think. Think about Chi Chi's character. She was always trying to be normal and have a normal family with a son who would be a scholar. I think it would be highly out of character to see her zipping around on the nimbus cloud. I think it caused her enough anguish just seeing her husband and son flying all over the place. In short, I don't think wanting a car/Goku to drive was completely about practicality, but status in her eyes. After all, I think that's somewhat apparent when she sees that happy couple zipping past her in that episode.

I swear you just turned Chi Chi into a Harry Potter character.

I think that is true, though. I know Chi Chi was much different as a little girl, but things change.

Another thing that was good about filler was how they made Chi Chi overly wanting her son to be a scholar. My friend from Japan told me in both the original and the dub Chi Chi is the stereotypical Japanese wife and mother.
