Dragon Ball Z Movie Pack 1 & 2 (1-9) DVD sets at RightStuf!
Re: Dragon Ball Z Movie Pack 1 (1-5) DVD set at RightStuf!
Not wanting to buy this if it's DBox masters just because it's not in a big ass box is rather...absurd, don't you think?

Its very absurd indeed. We're talking 5 movies for 22 bucks which is a fantastic deal considering movie box sets of certain series have 5 plus movies yet have higher price points. I wouldn't want to pay for a expensive boxset that's 60 plus dollars, it'll probably break my wallet, so releasing them as parts like they did with the Dragon Boxes was a smart thing.

Its very absurd that some are complaining already. Yes, it is. We know FUNimation by now. Of course they would milk the release. But, if these are the Dragon Box masters, they are worth it and for some this could be the end game of collecting DVDs. Unless FUNi releases the movies on Blu-ray restored like they are doing the series!jjgp1112 wrote:Rescuing mah post from the bottom of the page glitch:

Agreed! The DragonBox Movies look amazing. If this is our version of the DragonBox movies, for this price, that's amazing! Rightstuf shows a SRP of $29.98 but is selling it for $22.49 which means when it hits Amazon (based on past listings) this will be even cheaper! I would gladly fork over twenty bucks for five Dragon Box movies. The R2 singles themselves are going for $30 - $40 and they don't have subtitles!RoarkVegeta wrote:Are you guys really NOT gonna buy if its not in one full set? Jesus! You guys are picky as hell. I can only think of one time that FUNi has released ANYTHING of the series in a big box (GT). Just buy it and enjoy it. Damn.
OK... I think I'm done with my rant...

I'm not sure why people say FUNi is milking it. If its not 3 $20 sets it'd be one $60 set in all likelihood. No difference, really.

From the site's homepage:

Goddammit!!VegettoEX wrote:Unfortunately, we have been able to confirm with FUNimation that this re-release will not be based on the Dragon Box masters, but are simply re-releases of their own masters in a cheaper collection. We will follow-up again, but they will likely be based on their own remastering from the "Double Feature" steelbook releases from 2008-2009.

Typical. Oh well. No harm no foul in my eyes.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:From the site's homepage:Goddammit!!VegettoEX wrote:Unfortunately, we have been able to confirm with FUNimation that this re-release will not be based on the Dragon Box masters, but are simply re-releases of their own masters in a cheaper collection. I'll just keep my custom discs for a while longer. I have the money waiting for when FUNi does release the Dragon Box versions of the films.

As much as I want to get my grubby hands on the movies, I find my patience for waiting for the Dragonbox masters (even still on DVD format) is well worth it. Just wait . . . wait for it . . . perhaps I should set up camp and prepare for winter.

Not going to lie, this made me laugh a little. Redundantly redundant.

I don't see what the problem is. People don't necessarily scroll down, so it's a quick-link to it. Furthermore, since the site's never been upgraded since what I made in 2002 when I re-launched it, I've got news updates anchor-linked for easy linking to individual articles.

This sucking fucks, but it's still time for me to sell my few double features while I can still get some money out of them (especially the expensive ones, like the Cooler feature).
It's also good because the Android 13/Bojack one has also went out of print, so I don't have to worry about having a hole in my collection if they don't release the Dragon Boxes for the movies after all.

While it does suck that Funimation is not using the Dragon Box masters for the movies, at least this release is something for the people who missed out on the steelbook releases. I'm still keeping my steelbooks because steelbooks are freaking awesome and I dunno why anyone want to sell a steelbook.

It's not Dragon Box the Movies?
Pass. Thanks anyway, FUNimation.

Why would they only do 5? Aren't there 13 movies?
Either way, the packaging is what will make or break this for me.

More profit? So more people will buy it instead of the higher cost at once for all of them? There's a ton of factors.LeprikanGT wrote:Why would they only do 5? Aren't there 13 movies?

This just makes so little sense...they've been teasing us with minor hints at Dragon Box the Movies, and even though they HAVE the masters, they're just gonna re-release the Steelbooks? It's bull IMO.
Likely means more than another 6 months until the Movies could possibly be announced, and that's assuming these sets are released less than every 3 months. UGH... not much else to say

Well, I've lost interest. No Dragon Box masters = No sale, Funimation.

Ah damn. Well, no buy for me.
