I can sort of understand people playing with color grading to achieve what they think are the "true colors," even if I don't get it personally and think there's a few hundred sound arguments for Toei having released the series with those colors for a reason (including Kai's colors not correcting the 'green skies' and the fact that if the original zero gen film master has these color issues, every film master should have the same issues as they would deteriorate at similar rates, unless my logic is wrong in which case I'd love to hear more since film admittedly is something I don't know a ton about). The sharpening/blurring/etc. with consumer grade software though...please. It hurts. It's like this generation's version of Linkin Park AMV's. ;p
As for the GT argument...I've seen the GT singles in motion and they really do suffer from some bad encoding like most of the FUNi titles at that point in time. The GT Green Bricks aren't perfect, but personally I went with them (deeply discounted, of course) just to have a cheap and legitimate source of subtitles. Then again, I have the GT DragonBox, so I have my "complete" presentation right there. And unlike the Orange Bricks, I don't feel like the series has been desecrated to such an extent that a riot is necessary...plus, y'know, it's GT.
