I think Nozawa is more overrated than "jarring" to be honest. What people like is all subjective so there will be the group which loves Nozawa, as well as the group who hate her with a passion. I don't particularly
like her voice as Goku and the myriad of other Saiyan characters she voices, either because they are Goku's children or because they
look like Goku. That's when it gets ludicrous.
The aspects of her performance I detest are whenever she's screeching or making those choking sounds while trying to approximate intensity. I can deal with her normal speaking voice, not that I particularly
like it. Think of how Pauline Newstone or Linda Young sounds as Frieza. That could be an apt comparison of how Nozawa sounds as Goku, etc.
especially when they're grown up.

Thanks for the over-generalization. For what it's worth, even though it seems to be an accepted substitute for "lame" and the like, I would never use the word "gay" in such a manner. Please don't judge all FUNimation fans from the idiots who spew their misspelled insults on YouTube, just like FUNimation fans shouldn't judge all fans of the original by those who simply spout back with "Nozawa is the original and was handpicked by Toriyama! Schemmel sucks!!!!" (disclaimer: not an actual quote, it's ridiculously over the top on purpose) but do so in katakana just to feel superior. (okay, that was snark. I apologize.)
All in all, I agree with those who have said she really shouldn't have continued to voice the male characters once they became adults. Would people have been pleased if Colleen Clickenbeard continued to voice Gohan had Kai continued through the Buu saga?

Why should that be a problem with Kai? Sabat's Piccolo
predated his Zoro, thus Sabat's Kai Piccolo was a natural progression from when he initially took over the role. At least he's not voicing Dende or all of the other prominent Namekians with the same or slightly altered voices.
For me, it's kinda the opposite, when I heard Paul Donovan as the voice of Matrix in ReBoot, using pretty much the same voice he used for Graveheart in Shadow Raiders, I thought it was cool that a voice I was familiar with had been used again.

Sorry. I cannot say, actually, as the episodes I watched in Japanese were some of the Trunks episodes when Goku returns from Yardrat so it would either just be Goku in the scene or Gohan. All in all, a versatile actor could perform a large section of a scene, or an entire scene, as different characters and it wouldn't be obvious. Scott McNeil did it quite often in Beast Wars, whether it was Dinobot and Rattrap verbally sparring, or a conversation between Silverbolt and Dinobot/Rattrap. Then there's Waspinator... if you
know they're all Scott McNeil, you could pick up minute similarities but you could have an episode focusing on just those four characters as they are four separate and distinct voices which are only similar because they were produced by the same actor.
