I hate the episode were Gohan is hanging out with the orphan kids. I don't know why but i never liked that episode.
The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

Call it a second time... I dislike it too, though it's watchable. I dislike Gohan's training adventures in general.Perfect wrote:...That's the first time I've heard anyone dislike that episode.samuraix123 wrote:I hate the episode were Gohan is hanging out with the orphan kids. James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I cannot watch FUNi's in-house dub of any 1986~97 DB material.
In the Japanese version, there's not really anything I can't watch per se, but there is certainly stuff I enjoy less than others, such as various filler throughout the show (with some exceptions), Z movie 4, the Broli movies, GT, etc.

Can't watch the anime. It's just godawful what with the padding and filler and errors. As much as I like the FUNi dub, it just can't redeem it.
Recently rewatched GT, as much as I like some elements (Giru, mostly), I wouldn't be able to watch it again.

I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Well I must be in the minority cause I also dislike that episode, another episode I really hate is the one with Gohan and the robot.Perfect wrote: ...That's the first time I've heard anyone dislike that episode.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out.

Huh... I've never heard of anyone disliking the filler when Gohan's training, this is entirely new to me.

The Freeza battle kind of drags but my least favourite episode is Energy Drain mainly because I couldn't stand the Supreme Kai or seeing Gohan have his energy drained.

I don't like seeing Videl getting the shit kicked out of her by Spopovitch.

I always think that before watching it. Then, when I actually start watching it, it's good timessamuraix123 wrote:I hate the episode were Gohan is hanging out with the orphan kids. I don't know why but i never liked that episode.
Cannot bear to watch the GT Special, though. And "The Magic Begins" puts me to sleep. Seriously, it just knocks me out. To this day I still don't know how it ends...nor does it make me wanna really care

The only one I didn't like was the robot episode. That was so stupid. "Okay robot, I'm going!" "Hey, I'm back!" "Okay, okay, I'll go now." "How could I leave you?" "Okay, going." "Back!" "Bye!" *smash*Perfect wrote:Huh... I've never heard of anyone disliking the filler when Gohan's training, this is entirely new to me.
That's all I remember of it. It wasn't very memorable.

Ironically, Masako Nozawa ended up getting tons of fan-mail from just that episode.Pokewhiz7 wrote:The only one I didn't like was the robot episode. That was so stupid. "Okay robot, I'm going!" Re: Any Episodes/Movies/TV Specials you can't watch?
Dragonball Evolution is a good shout that a previous poster said.. if that counts seeing as it's live action. I'll add that to my list. I think it could have been good, I didnt have problems with the casting where as others did, but the script was awful and 20th Century Fox showed the series no respect what so ever. I think James Marsters said the budget for the film was about 7 million.
Maybe one day it will get a reboot... it may be a better idea if they leave the series alone but I would hope at least if they were to do a reboot, they'd show the series a bit more respect.

Really? Gohan's indecision is actually done very well. All in all, it's one of those very un-Toriyama, down-to-Earth (so to speak) stories that Dragon Ball doesn't tell nearly enough.Pokewhiz7 wrote:The only one I didn't like was the robot episode. I can kind of understand the distaste for the training-for-the-Saiyans filler when you're going through the series all at once. It's a lot to slog through and watched en masse, it can even seem a little repetitive. But individually, they're some of the best stand-alone episodes stories of the entire franchise.
Then again, I'm also a sucker for the "Dragon Ball: The Sitcom" episodes that mark the beginning of the Boo arc, so what do I know?
Re: Any Episodes/Movies/TV Specials you can't watch?
Really, I can watch all of them, but there have been a few filler arcs that have put me off for a little bit, like Goku's training under Kami, Goku's solo training before the 22nd Budokai, the wedding dress arc, the Garlic Jr. arc, Fake Namek, and a lot of the Trunks arc filler (except the driving episode; genius!). The only movie I don't care too much for is Bio-Broly.
Re: Any Episodes/Movies/TV Specials you can't watch?
When the movies started focusing more on roid rage instead of mixing action with fun adventures.
You have this progression where even up until Tree of Might there's a bit of funtime with the action. Then something like movies 4-9 are the worst offenders. Not saying I don't like anything in there -- 6 stands out for some reason -- but I think it's not until the second Broly Movie where they start having fun with it again. I say this and I'm not a huge Broly fan, but I thought wacky adventures with Videl, Goten, and Trunks brought something to that movie.
I think 10, 12, and 13 go out on a pretty high note in terms of action vs. comedy, invoking the right balance. The 13th movie is probably one of the few with a really serious storyline, too.

I just recently re-watched the whole Saiyan arc and I can say, none of those fillers, all together, are boring to sit through. It was a really fun adventure and reminded me of the original Dragonball. It was not a tough "slog" to get through at all. The filler after the Saiyan arc, such as Fake Namek, yes those are bad and tough to get through!Cipher wrote:Really? Gohan's indecision is actually done very well. My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

A single episode? Surely you jest! There must be some episode you like, in fact I'm sure there is and you're just going about your usual rotten attitude. I dunno how you could tolerate GT and call Z boring either, that's just crazy. Z is the most popular three for a reason you know, maybe not the best, but that's subjective.CatouttaHell wrote:The entire "Z" third of the series is just boring as hell to me at this point. I like the Saiyan arc filler but it does drag on and on, but it at least feels like a year passes.
I prefer the Namek filler though...

It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I find both DB and GT to be far more entertaining than Z at this point... but I'll admit I've seen Z far more times than them so I may have just watched it one too many times.
