Don't forget some of the Ocean cast era doozies:

"My name is Recoome, it rhymes with doom, and you'll be hurting all too soon."

But he's also a fighter, through and through [...] he fight until he has, in no uncertain terms, beaten his enemy on terms they can both acknowledge. He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

That one is so marvelously bad, it became good in a way. Worked incredibly well for us!

Yeah, that was pretty damn useless and pointless.

Anyone who's been watching Z / Kai would known why Gohan went SSJ2 furiously.

Yea. More unnecessary dialogue when quiet is much better. I loved how Gohan's mind was just blank, until the moment he snapped. RAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! BOOM!!! Ssj2 Gohan arrives. Much better imo.

It's killing me because I can't find the video but it's from when Vegeta was fighting Cell. Cell asked how Vegeta got so strong so fast and Vegeta says something along the lines of "I drank all my milk and remembered to do my push-ups!" I almost died laughing. Please, please, please, someone find that clip.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?

Even Kai's dub has the terrible bit Bulma says about the possibility of Vegeta holding the gang hostage until Goku gets back. Not only is this NOT what she said in the original, but it doesn't even make sense when you think about it.

Vegeta can't contact Goku in space, so the only way Goku would know his friends were hostage would be if he returned, which is what Vegeta wants to begin with, so it would be really damn pointless.

Originally? Bulma guessing Vegeta isn't used to casual dress. Simple, quick, not stupid.

For Kai this is especially heinous, because it's supposed to be a more accurate dub.

Crap, with all these cases of "bad dialogue" popping up, I'm afraid to go through with my plan of watching dub DB beginning to end. I actually ordered the old ocean dub sets and i swear i felt brain cells die as Tenshinhan said "I can see their parachutes" Just thinking about it makes me want to hit my head on my desk. Should i be concerned about having a stroke with my dub watch through? I'm mainly concerned with Z and GT, DB i watched entirely in Japanese and English and never had a problem (save when Goku proposed to Chi-Chi, the dub was "I know what my heart says" where as the sub was "So, wanna get hitched?")

Speaking of the Ocean dub, it just brought back memories of when Nappa destroys East City on the previously on narration.

"The Saiyans attacked... luckily they destroyed the uninhabited part of town...."
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Last night while watching my Dragon Box #4 (In Japanese / English Sub of course), I recall the scene where Chi-Chi came out to Krillin, Tien and Yamcha and told them in English,

Chi-Chi: "Hey guys, collect call from Bulma."

Yamcha: "Don't accept."

Aghhhh!!!

And the other one pf course is the back in the Freeza saga where Kaio-sama (King Kai) was cheering on Goku:

King Kai: "Oh yeah, give it to him Goku, yeah, make him feel it real good................

"I just got back from checking out Cell's new body....from what I say of him, he's pretty tough...he'd probably lick me." - Goku.

No joke, Sean really said that.

Also, this scene.

And lastly, this. The monologue was unnecessary, and extremely inaccurate.

Goku didn't die in GT. The show sucked him off so much, it was impossible to keep him in the world of the living, so he ascended beyond mortality.

Gohan: "I'm my fathers SOOOOON!" That's the only line in the dub that's really ever irked me. Back when there was talk about Funimation possibly re-dubbing the movies with the Kai dub cast I was hoping it would come true just to get rid of that line. Another one is from the DB dub, Piccolo-Daimao: "I've fought all over the universe and I've never met anyone as strong you." Not a bad line its just that anyone who knows their DB will see what's wrong with that line being said by Piccolo in DB.

I don't see what's so bad about that line, isn't the Ginyu Force meant to be a bunch of over the top comic relief villains who do posses and shout?

Lol I knew I heard that line before abridged!

I really hate the funi dialogue here and it's in Kai..

"My father lost much in his battle, including his left arm!"
-incorrect dialogue from Ma Jr to Son Goku FUNi dub

What's with the "Dude! My Truck!" line anyway?

Must of been accidental leaving in from the Nicktoons edit.

Yeah, I can't possibly imagine Funimation intentionally leaving that line present in the uncut release. An excusable mistake on their part, assuming it actually was one.
It's been done countless times before, but...

One of the worst early FUNi lines that I can remember was when Captain Ginyu was fighting Kuririn and Gohan in Goku's body, he says "I hope you're both wearing clean underwear, because you're about to take a trip to the emergency ward!"

:facepalm!!

(I had to pop in DBox 2 for this one just so I could get that horrendous line verbatim )

I just recalled another.

The scene where Trunks and Krillin are in Dr. Gero's hidden lab and Trunks finds the plans to Android #17:

Trunks states he has found the blueprints on how to shut down #17 & #18 and Krillin says if he found any else. Trunks then goes on to say something like, "Nah just some plans for some toaster."

It's stupid dialouge and pun jokes like this that made this series just awful!

that shit was funny when I was nine. Reminds me of when Vegeta was fighting 18 for the first time and he says something along the lines of "When I'm done I'm going to turn you into a washer machine or maybe a toaster!"
