BT1 did had some fun what if's like Super 17 vs. SSj4 Gogeta. I'm going to wait to see what Bandai Namco has to say before I can make a final judgement.

Still incredibly skeptical of this, though. The "Classics HD" thing does indeed look like PS3 covers (I'm specifically looking at European covers just for comparison), but that's Sony artwork -- to have that slapped onto an Xbox 360 cover is highly questionable.
This same retailer outed the DMC HD collection before it was announced.

I'm not entirely doubting the possible legitimacy of the collection, especially since the Walmart listing is back. As Super Saiyan Prime and I have both detailed, however, the images themselves cannot be official in any capacity -- the dusty cover art and Sony-specific branding on a 360 cover is enough to showcase that.

Definitely, but what we get will probably look somewhat similar, at least for the PS3 version. I hope they don't use the US box art for "Budokai Tenkaichi", I really hate how it looks, and the sequel's US box art for that matter.

If this is true then I am angry to no end.

Now I'm not saying that the Tenkaichi games were bad, but what is the point of having ALL OF THEM in a single collection?

When you have Budokai Tenkaichi 3 is there any point in playing 1 or 2 outside of maybe nostalgia? Is there really ANYTHING in the first 2 games that warrants getting a re-release?

Why not do like a "best of PS2 collection" with Tenkaichi 3, Budokai 3, and Super DBZ?

Each game has different game-play mechanics and story/game modes (for the most part). This would make sense.

Releasing 3 different versions of the same game does not. Although I suppose if they can't find the game code for any of the other games, then it can't be helped and my dreams of Budokai 3 having netcode have onces again been shattered

Budokai Tenkaichi 1 was nothing like BT2 or BT3, each BTs have their advantages.

Since BT2's music was released on RB2 they could've use the "HD Collection" for Battle Stadium D.O.N + SDBZ + Budokai 1 + Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

I would like to see a collection of all the classic games from DragonBall Shenron no nazo(Famikon) to DragonBall Final Bout(PS1)

But thanks to the whole "Yamamoto case" that may never happen. And I had no problem with Yamamoto.

These games are hardly nostalgic given that they are not even 10 years old. I guess people will re-play the first two for the easy 360 achievements.

I say make this:

HD B3
HD BT3
HD SDBZ

But yeah I think this is fake because of that.
Raging Blast series is basically the Budokai Tenkaichi games with better graphics, slightly better/inferior (dependable) and new/old characters.

This collection is probably just to finally shut those BT3 fans already since they were asking for this damn game on 360/PS3 long time ago.
Sorry man, I think you misinterpreted me a little. My point is why not just give BT3? What's the point of BT2 and BT hd? They're basically downgrades of the same game. So having a collectioin of essentially 3 of the same games is pointless. But yeah I'm taking this with a grain of salt. It seems very fake now anyway :S Oh well, wonder if DIMPs will ever do BL2? or Budokai 4...now that will gather attention (the title I mean)

I don't mean to be rude, but have you people ever played Budokai Tenkaichi 1, 2 and 3? They're not the same.

Budokai Tenkaichi 2's gameplay is actually better than Tenkaichi 3's, in the fact that it isn't nearly as broken. There aren't random Z counters all over the place and all that crap. However, it has a ton better fan service, and it's battle system, despite mad broken, seems more 'fun' (lacking a better way to put it) than it's predecessor. A lot more was done with it.

BT1 is just awful, in fact IMO they all are, and I think it would be ludicrous to have all three on a single disc. I barely have any nostalgia when I think back over the years to the Tenkaichi series, whatsoever.

Anyway, I'm not interested in this and I hope it's not true. If there is some truth to this however, then I wouldn't expect that they actually go for a Tenkaichi collection, they aren't idiots and know it would be pointless. On the other hand, would they really do 3 different games and share the money among all three of the companies? I wouldn't think so, but what do I know.

Well I'm with the B3/SDBZ/BT3 crowd.

The first Sparking game was pretty bad. The camera was annoying, the story mode was very weak, the music from Budokai 1-3 was getting old by 2005, and that the gameplay seem pretty buggy at some points. The second game was a huge set up to the first game that I was surprise. It was like Star Trek II was to Star Trek: TMP.

Anyone else want Tag Vs in an HD collection? I feel that TTT would be great with proper online.

I still rather see a Budokai 1-3 collection. With Budokai 1 and 2, I won't mind playing through the story mode again. Budokai 2 was a lot of fun and I wish more DBZ games where more creative with their story modes.

I wish they would release BOTH the Budokai AND Tenkaichi series in HD.
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

I'm saying this in the nicest way possible. I'm not trying to be a jackass, but honestly I see no difference in the core aspect of BT 1 2 and 3. It's just my analogy perhaps you're seeing something I'm not. Anyways to each to his own :)

Gimme Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 3 in one HD collection and I'm set... Yeah, the previous versions of those series are fun and all, but in my opinion, these are the best and most content-heavy games of that era for your buck, so having the older Budokais/Tenkaichis on there would mainly be for nostalgia. Maybe slap Infinite World on there too, since that's a mix of Budokai and Burst Limit gameplay.

On second thought, you're right about Budokai 2 being real fun. The board game-like story mode was pretty cool, with it's hidden items, secrets, and divergent story paths.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

I was going to post three videos but since I've found a video comparison with all three BTs, then this is just perfect for the "it's all the same".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWIOO4lEF40

While I normally don't agree with YouTube comments this time I do, and I leave here the quote of the YouTube comment:
BT1 - Vegeta was spamming, and there wasn't much to see. Just ki ki ki and a few punches. The AI's suck.

BT2 - More interesting. More to watch, but seemed a bit boring. There wasn't much movement and it was kinda slow.

BT3 - Much more fun to watch. The AI was challenging and quick-thinking, made you keep on your toes. There was plenty of movement, and the battle had no spamming - lots of variety.
Despite BT2 being a bit slower than BT3, I'd still go for BT2 due to the awesome variety of music it has. Eh, Raging Blast 2 has BT2's OST so RB2's fine. :P

But, for those of us who don't remember, what were the actual differences in the mechanics? Things like AI and story mode differences are... well, I guess somewhat relevant, but what about the core games? What could you do in one that you couldn't do in another?

I think I remember reading somewhere recently that in NEO you could manually get out of your lock-on all on your own and fly away for tactical strategies, which was removed in METEOR. Is this true? What other stuff like this was changed? Different types of abilities, mechanic changes, etc.
