Did Dragon Ball introduce you to Asian food?

It didn't really introduced me to Asian food in general at all, but it did introduce me to a few specific foods, such as tenshindon, shumai, and gyouza. Somehow I already new what pilaf rice was, possibly because they used to serve it all the time at lunch when I was in elementary school.
