WAAAAAAT?

If they randomly redubbed lines for no reason at all, a la the season sets, then I'm not for this release. :x

Though, it would be astounding if we got the uncut movies 1-3 dubs with better footage.
I thought he was talking about the Kai dub that we don't officially know about but talk about anyway.

I'd probably get it, even though I have all the old dub anyway, especially if it's uncut. I wonder who the Goku is though?

Actually, it would kinda make sense for them to re-release the Freeza arc in this manner with their unaltered 1999 dub so you can seamlessly go from one to the other like the old broadcast, with the old Sabat performance, and the edited Ginyu Assault episode.

I expect them to think though "LOL season sets" instead though.

What to think about this? It's another re-release... another! But I grew up watching the Ocean Dub in the UK and I love it... I don't know. I might wait to find out more before I consider buying it.

I think we should call this release (the ocean dubs of the Sayain and Namek arcs at least) original 1996 version of DBZ because that's the most accurate description for this release if this turns out to be legit, personally I find the prospect interesting and it could also give DBZ enthusiasts the chance to own FUNimation's first attempt to dub the series in the best non-DBOX quality possible.
If anyone has any of the DB/DBZ/DBGT or Maho Tsuaki Sally Japanese single DVD's that they'd be interested in selling send me a PM and I'll see if we can work something out. ;).

I'm getting it, then get it signed by Drummond, hell I'll force him to do it at the gym, and cherish it like if it was a rare gem :'D

If this a redub with the original cast I will definitely be buying this. I am hoping it's a uncut redub this would just rock...the dragon. Either way I want this.

If they re-dubbed the Android-Kid Buu sagas with Shuki Levy music instead of the megaman/monster rancher music then that would be pretty cool.

So on the one hand it's supposed to be re-dubbed. On the other it says original broadcast. Perhaps they left a lot of old lines intact but re-dubbed the lines for characters who's old actors have left like Goku, Roshi, Bulma and Gohan. And perhaps it's going to be uncut so they need new lines added in from returning cast members too.

The fact Scott McNeil hasnt said anything about this is also odd..considering he openly talks about kai

If this is real, I have no problem if it doesn't stop me from getting Dragon Boxes of Dragon Ball, GT, and the Movies. If it does, FUNi is getting a very long letter from me.

Dude... I will buy the shit out of this if it's real. It almost seems too good to be true though. I want to believe it's real but I have a feeling it's fake.

Honestly it's about time they acknowledge Ocean fans. I just hope they market it right otherwise the new generation of fans won't know what this is and will give it bad word of mouth with ought knowing what they're talking about.

I get the whole fanboy thing, but, I just have a problem with getting an edited release of an outdated dub in 2013. By all means it's great for the 5 people that would buy this, but I think as a whole, it's not great. Of course, this is probably a hoax, but if this turns out being real, I'll be very disappointed. I was hoping for a Dragon Box announcement this year, and this is a great thing for the fans if this is real, but it's weird FUNi would do this. I don't even know why they would.

That's why this whole "redub" thing seems kinda funny, too. Is it just the broadcast version? Does it include some new audio track? Why do this when they've spent so much time pretending that Canada never existed.

EDIT: The biggest obstacle I have in completely believing this is that the cover art isn't a single character or two characters fighting over a basic design or pattern as a background. This looks like something you'd find on a Chinese pirated DVD or from a fan who put some heart into actually reflecting the events of the DVDs on the cover.

I'm not believing this until I see physical copies/debunked for being false.

In the meantime, I leave you all with this.

Wow. Haven't seen that in a while. I think I like those kind of previews better than the Japanese ones. They spoil less!

Also, I am skeptical about this too. Although, an Ocean dub on Dragon Boxes would be really awesome, like a previous poster said. The TV series with Japanese music and the Ocean cast...whoo, dang, yes please.

I don't even have words for this. How the hell do they think they can get away selling only twenty-six edited episodes for forty bucks? Fifty-three I could understand, but this?

I agree with you guys. One thing is surprising is first that Scott McNeil outright said it was Kai. Drummond said just "some lines" and that he "wasn't too excited for the project" as he was coming back to something he did a long time ago. To me, based on what Drummond said, it does not sound like Kai. He never said he was doing Kai but was coming back to Dragon Ball again.

Funimation pretends all the actors that came before them never even existed whereas the Ocean cast does...

Ocean helped with the editing of Kai. What is, if any, the relevance there to a new Ocean dub? We do not know yet.

Is this a whole new dub, an Orange brick like release of Season 3, where it had some rerecorded voices and old ones left intact, or will it be Kai?

And if it is Kai, maybe it is labelled just as DBZ, so it would not confuse fans.
