Spike Chunsoft Confirmed to be Developing for PS4

With the impending release of Battle of Gods and promotional opportunities therein, I see the premise of Spike developing a new game to be really not that difficult to believe at all.

Except for the part where these consoles will have no install-base, so they'd rather go for the previous generation systems. Remember when Budokai Tenkaichi 3 came out for the PS2 in October 2007?

True, but it also came out for the Wii. So maybe they'll release this on 7th and 8th gen consoles in a similar fashion as BT3.

Just because they're confirmed to develop games for the Playstation 4, doesn't actually mean they're automatically going to released Dragon Ball games on that system for now on out (If they do, it won't be Dragon Ball, they make other games too).

I'd see that the next Dragon Ball game would be released on the PS3, before a Dragon Ball game in general starts to head off to the PS4.

Oh my bad, I didn't see this was already a thread. I posted something similar when I saw the list of developers from the official press release. I'm seeing a lot of early 3rd party games get a PS4 and PS3 launch for safety. So it's still possible that we might see something like that with the next release. I know Spike makes more than just Dragonball games, but it kind of lines up when you think about it. Namco-Bandai spent this past year releasing an HD collection and a cheap Kinect game; Rumors started popping up that the reason for this was because they wanted more time for the next installment; That extra time could have been for developers(more likely Spike than Dimps) could get a grip on the PS4. I'm calling it now, the next game is going to be a PS3/PS4 release.

I don't think they'd have the time to produce a new PS4 game and have it be better than what we've been getting recently. I think they'll at least want to release a PS3 game that's better than previous years before moving on to the PS4.

If they did, the game would be rushed and wouldn't use the next-gen's console(s) capabilities which would be a loss in the graphical power of the game, but still, since PS4 isn't backwards compatible it'd be better than nothing.

I think a rushed game would be what they're trying to avoid by buying time. Although I heard that the PS4 will be able to play PS3 games that are downloaded from the store, so it could be available for PS4 that way.

Well I didn't say it would be good, just that it would be there. Never has a lauch title, despite the developer, ever pushed new hardware to it's fullest during the launch. If anything it will look slightly better than what the PS3 can offer. We might see minor boosts in terms of character count and so on. I'd like them to start focusing more on physics in the next generation of titles.

When the official page gets 100,000 likes, they'll release some info on 2013's game. That might reveal the platform, at least, since I imagine that would be one of the first details revealed.

Well, and comments written in English, or at least post in dual languages (EN / FR).

If the whole page was with French comments I wouldn't be bothered to go around using a translator for every single one of them. A few could be worth it but not the majority (fans asking for the darn RB3), I suppose.
