DNA's Projects - Goku Densetsu Analysis
Re: DNA's Projects Guide and Discussion
Hey guys, just a heads up.
As you know, Shen Long's Dragon Balls is an experimental live project, from the fans and to the fans. As such I strive to bring the best out for you guys. This means that, before we actually bring it back, I need your feedback!
What features would you like to see coming back? What new features would you like to be included? Which features should be scrapped?
I will be working things out with the potential team, which is composed of myself (the right nut), Zykar (the left nut) and Gon (the shaft).
It will also be broadcast in LiveStream instead of Mixrl, since it seems we cannot avoid the feedback and echo issues in any way whatsoever.

Re: DNA's Projects Guide and Discussion
Yeah, I'm not sure there was really anything wrong with the format before.
Re: DNA's Projects Guide and Discussion
Sorry, sorry, once again! Got a new job which is extremely time consuming. I hope to start having more time next week so I can finally return to all these projects.
I've acquired Burst Limit and Raging Blast, so I'll be able to cover them soon, or at least start doing it.
Merged Post (Tue Feb 25):
Sup sexy people!
Since I've owed you a blog update for so long, you're getting a twofer today. I hope you enjoy it.
Also, the models database has been updated today with Tap Battle and Gekitou Tenkaichi Budokai. No palette swaps, but you can always enjoy the models.

Re: DNA's Projects Guide and Discussion
Hi! Just to let you guys know that me and Zykar had a long talk about the future of the show today, we did some planning and all that good stuff. I am very sorry about all the delays but life has been quite complicated on my end lately.
It's quite disheartening to not hear any feedback about the blog entries though... :(

Re: DNA's Projects Guide and Discussion
New article, decided to restart Goku Densetsu. A more complete analysis is underway, you can see a preview here but pictures are in the blog.
Goku's Legend Part 1 - Raditz Arc
The Heroes model master list has been upgraded to a grid system where you can actually see the cards representing them. It's organized in a way that shows you who's in, and not exactly in the way the developers decided they would separate the characters and forms.
Heroes Cards
I cannot continue the models and outfits because my capture card does not capture Xbox 360 or PS3. I will have to buy an HDMI one at some point, which is costly.
The Shen Long's Dragon Balls livecast will suffer some changes in presentation, we are unable to do it for now since I'm kinda homeless. I won't have the means to do any of that in the following months. No privacy, no time slot, no secure internet connection.
I tried starting a Dragon Ball news recap video on YouTube where you could see my stupid face and hear my stupid opinions. It would eventually evolve into complementing the livecast but unfortunately I cannot record clean sound, so that will be on a hiatus as well.
Rest assured that when we restart it, we'll be back at full force, livecast and video show. Eventually me or Zykar will have to buy a decent camcorder and/or microphone.
But I'll continue the blog, which is the only thing I can do for now, so yay? I'll try and finish this game in the next few weeks and am open to requests to some extent. I cannot cover any main consoles games from PS1 onwards, so choose anything that isn't that, either NES, SNES, Genesis or handheld. If not I'll either pick one at random or redo Daimao Fukkatsu with pics.
Goku's Legend Part 1 - Raditz Arc
As for everything else...Hey guys, sorry for the long hiatus, but life has been complicated. So I wanted to revisit this game and see what more it has to offer, I had previously found a few interesting side stories during my posting on the thread in Kanzenshuu. So come along and let's see what this game has to offer!
Graphics: Very good sprite work, everything looks nice and pleasing to the eyes.
Game-play: Nice and challenging. Will depend on your taste since it's a card based RPG. The fighting system is quite complex, it has evolved a lot since the last DBZ game of it's type. Still, battles and progression is very repetitive and tedious.
Sound: Awesome soundtrack, many tracks borrow from the original Japanese score for the anime, which is a good thing here.
Fan-service: It's the same old story with some alternate and sometimes extra bits.
Replay value: Being a card based RPG, I don't see much replay value, although you can pick any chapter at will after you've unlock them, so that's nice.
Alternativeness: Tells the same story but with a few spins, it's good to know it's not all for sake of game play though, a few are just to throw some fun side stories at the player.
Raditz Arc - Goku's Side
Raditz, Messenger From the Stars!
Goku and Piccolo make their way towards Raditz, who brought a few Saibaimen to make things interesting.
Snake Way Marathon
Goku traverses it until reaching the Snake Princess. Angry from Goku's refusal of her advances, she summons Goz and Mez. He defeats the snake, Goz and Mez and Snake Princess appears again and throws Goku to Hell.
Goz and Mez, Guardians of Hell
Goku lands in Hell and is confronted by Goz and Mez again. An helpful spirit guides Goku, Goku invites the spirit to leave with him and the spirit says he will...
Battle Against Gravity!
Goku arrives at Kaio's Planet, catches Bubbles and then catches Gregory.
Hurry, Goku! Back on Snake Way!
The Saiyans arrive and Goku must hurry back to Earth.
Whilst passing by Snake Princess' house, she notices something and wonders. Raditz, the spirit that helped Goku escape Hell, tells her to come back inside.
Raditz Arc - Piccolo's Side
A New Enemy... Piccolo's New Technique
Same as Goku's first chapter.
Beyond the Limits! Solitary Training!
Piccolo decides to train on his own whilst Gohan fends for himself. He starts by defeating two dinosaurs and then divides himself into two and fights his own copy.
Piccolo and Gohan Train
What the title says. Nothing interesting happens.
Raditz Arc - Gohan's Side
"Save me Dad!" ...Gohan's Cry
Raditz appears and kidnaps Gohan.
Gohan's Harsh Training
Gohan trains in the wilderness and then fights Piccolo
An Adventure in Search of Dragon Balls!
Piccolo asks Gohan to run an errand in a populated area. Instead of going back he runs into Kuririn who was tasked with finding the Dragon Balls. He's got three already, the Si Xing Qiu (4 Star Ball) from Gohan's hat that was left at Kame House and the San Xing Qiu (3 Star Ball) and Liu Xing Qiu (6 Star Ball) that Goku previously found and left them in his house.
Kuririn says that something came up and asks Gohan to find the remaining Dragon Balls.
Using the Dragon Radar Gohan finds the Er Xing Qiu (2 Star Ball), Wu Xing Qiu (5 Star Ball) and the Qi Xing Qiu (7 Star Ball). He then heads to Kame House to hand them.
Kame Sennin comments that Kuririn manipulated Gohan into doing his work. He then realizes that one dragon ball is missing so he instructs Gohan to visit Blooma in order to get the dragon radar checked. He also informs Blooma ahead of time.
Gohan meets with Blooma but she tells him the radar isn't broken, so she then suggests he visits Uranai Baba.
He arrives at Baba's who was already expecting him, having gathered five fighters for Gohan.
Gohan fights Jiaozi first, then Yamcha, then Kuririn followed by Ten Shin-Han.
Kuririn comments that this was the urgent business he had to attend. It seems the human warriors offered their services to Uranai Baba should she ever need them, as part of their training.
The last opponent is Raditz, which Baba brought back from the dead, Gohan defeats him and Baba sends him back.
As promised, Baba uses her divination powers to find the last Dragon Ball, which has been eaten by a dinosaur. It seems the radar can't pick up the signals if they're inside a living thing. Gohan fights the dinosaur until he burps the Yi Xing Qiu (1 Star Ball) out.
Then he hurries back to Kame House to hand the last Dragon Ball and then quickly returns to Piccolo for training.
Thoughs so far:
Okay so, the best thing so far in my opinion is all the bits with Raditz. Raditz managed to escape Hell by following Goku and then stopped and decided to stay with Jadoushin? This is canon in my book!
The whole thing with Gohan gathering the Dragon Balls is a bit too forceful to work. First, Piccolo sends Gohan on an errand? What did he need milk and eggs? The premise for this to happen is ridiculous. Kuririn pins all the work onto Gohan, keeping the trend of Kuririn being an absolute asshole in the games.
Gohan fighting the guys on Baba's Palace is interesting, keeps with the training but once again couldn't work, there's no way Gohan would be that strong, even if he was, these battles would have given him much more confidence and the fight against Nappa would have been much different. I like the fact that the guys offered their services as fighters though, could work.
Baba bringing back Raditz, okay that's cool! Maybe she has an agreement with him, as in, she won't tell anyone that he escaped Hell and he'll work for her as her new last fighter, at least for that one fight. Again, Gohan defeating him is pretty ridiculous and would create many problems.
The Dragon Radar cannot pick up signals from within bodies, that's new information.
Well, onto Vegeta Arc.

Great job as always.
Re: DNA's Projects - Goku Densetsu Analysis
Currently working on the Saiyan arc of Goku's Legend.
Just started compiling a Dragon Ball Calendar which features a few events related to the Dragon Ball franchise and will include more as time goes by and dates become clear. Might actually add this to my blog.
Plans are being made about the YouTube channel, which can be previously recorded offline, unlike the Live cast which needs to be live, so it's harder to record.
Also got this going, although it seems I'm pretty much done; Name Pun Round-Up Part 2.
I've been recruited to two other secret projects which may or may not interest you, more information will be available soon... ish.
