Does Dragonball inspire you to get fitter and healthier?
Re: Does Dragonball inspire you to get fitter and healthier?
Yes. I find that I draw inspiration for my life from a great deal of popular media. For instance, Breaking Bad inspired me to cook crystal meth. Game of Thrones inspired me to adopt a wolf, that's worked out well. Also, Rurouni Kenshin inspired me to slaughter hundreds with a katana only to turn my life around and live for the benefit of those around me.
Serious answer? No. Not in the slightest.

You seem to imply that taking inspiration from popular media is a bad thing ...Dalesy wrote:Yes. I find that I draw inspiration for my life from a great deal of popular media. Depends on the popular media that we are talking about. There are very few who should be taken as a inspiration.Dr. Machismo wrote:You seem to imply that taking inspiration from popular media is a bad thing ...Dalesy wrote:Yes. Elaborate? There's nothing wrong with taking inspiration from popular media like Dragonball and whatever. It depends on what it inspires you to do, though.rereboy wrote:Depends on the popular media that we are talking about. And also, being inspired to become fitter and healthier is NOT the same thing as being inspired to make crystal meth, adopt a wolf and slaughter people ... at ALL.

Physique is the form, size and development of one's body.Kakarot88 wrote:Not sure what that is... but I think my pic with Masako Nozawa is good enough lolDr. Machismo wrote:Seeing some good IRL physiques would be great.

Popular media which actually has positive themes, examples and morals could be taken as inspiration without negative consequences. Dragon Ball has some of those, like the underlying theme of good VS evil and the drive to be better.Dr. Machismo wrote:

But other popular media, like Jorsey Shore or whatever, shouldn't ever be taken as inspiration for anything.
The only difference is that the first one is a positive inspiration and the other one is a negative inspiration. Nothing more.Dr. Machismo wrote: And also, being inspired to become fitter and healthier is NOT the same thing as being inspired to make crystal meth, adopt a wolf and slaughter people ... at ALL.

No kidding, hence why I pointed to my avatar, I was asking what "IRL" is...urban dictionary said it meant "In Real Life," so I found my answer, thanks anyways.Dr. Machismo wrote:Physique is the form, size and development of one's body.Kakarot88 wrote:Not sure what that is... but I think my pic with Masako Nozawa is good enough lolDr. Machismo wrote:Seeing some good IRL physiques would be great.

It really doesn't matter what inspires you to do something. What matters is what it inspires you to do. If stuff like Jersey Shore inspires you to become a better person for some reason, then that's fine. If it inspires you to become some criminal, that's not fine.
Unlike making crystal meth, adopting wolves and slaughtering people, becoming healthier and fitter is a more realistic and by most standards, more acceptable goal. It should not be compared to those other things. The only difference is that the first one is a positive inspiration and the other one is a negative inspiration. Nothing more.

It was a joke. I have no idea why you're taking it seriously.Dr. Machismo wrote:Unlike making crystal meth, adopting wolves and slaughtering people, becoming healthier and fitter is a more realistic and by most standards, more acceptable goal. It should not be compared to those other things.

It sounded like you were saying taking inspiration from popular media is ridiculous.Dalesy wrote:It was a joke.
