If they DID air DBZ uncut, it could potentially be the UUE masters.

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? A few of them, but definitely not all. But I'm always hearing Toonami airs uncut now on [adult swim]. Can you tell me what shows, if any, aren't uncut on Toonami since the block was brought back on [adult swim]?MarcFBR wrote:Out of curiosity, how many of these shows have you actually seen on DVD or Blu-ray?Fennekin wrote:They pretty much do. Besides the occasional beep over bad words (Which I only remember hearing during Deadman Wonderland) and the 30-Second compression of the opening and ending, it's practically uncut.

I don't watch Toonami often nowadays, but off the top of my head...Fennekin wrote:A few of them, but definitely not all. But I'm always hearing Toonami airs uncut now on [adult swim]. Can you tell me what shows, if any, aren't uncut on Toonami since the block was brought back on [adult swim]?

I wouldn't watch because I already own the series on DVD, but it would be pretty cool that it's back on television.

Only Bebop and IGPX air on Toonami. Also IGPX isn't uncut?MarcFBR wrote:I don't watch Toonami often nowadays, but off the top of my head...Fennekin wrote:A few of them, but definitely not all. I don't even know how to respond when an entire post someone makes is wrong.CaBrPi wrote:Only Bebop and IGPX air on Toonami. Tenchi GXPI thought it was made intended for American children...
All those shows have aired on Toonami since it's return. IGPX is the old edited down version, and IGPX was a co-production, where the copy that CN aired was an edited down version of the full production.

To my knowledge, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and Soul Eater are airing uncut on Toonami as well... If you dont count shortened intros/outros as censoring, that is.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.
Re: DBZ Returning to Toonami, Pretty Likely.
My understanding is Naruto is based on the uncut version (Rather than the previous 'old school' Toonami edit) but has had a few slight edits at times.theoriginalbilis wrote:To my knowledge, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, and Soul Eater are airing uncut on Toonami as well... I can't comment on the others as I haven't watched any of them on Toonami.

Oh, I totally read your post incorrectly. For some reason, I thought you meant current Toonami fare.MarcFBR wrote:I don't even know how to respond when an entire post someone makes is wrong.CaBrPi wrote:Only Bebop and IGPX air on Toonami. Also IGPX isn't uncut?MarcFBR wrote:

But I still never knew there was anything more to IGPX.

I remember Adult Swim has limits on what anime that they can air. I remember rumors that they turn down Berserk and Demon Lord Dante back in the early 2000's for being too violent.

You're right. One of AS's older bumper cards said outright they could never air Berserk; because it would have to be censored down to "10 minutes an episode."Hellspawn28 wrote:I remember Adult Swim has limits on what anime that they can air. Don't know about the latter, but I recall the bumpers when asking for shows and responses when Berserk was asked, response was, "Standards would butcher it". And though I've never watched the show, from what I understand when "Blue Gender" was on they had to cut things due to being back when they had the "nothing over tv14 policy" and there's sex in that show. Also heard one of the execs wanted "Elfen Lied", but too much would've been cut. Wondering on when they get to Jiraiya's debut as I don't think you can commit blasphemy on AS, so they might change one line of his that was in the uncut dub.Hellspawn28 wrote:I remember Adult Swim has limits on what anime that they can air. Just out of curiosity, what's the line? I remember being worried about Jiraiya back when Naruto was airing edited on Saturdays, but IIRC it worked out really well.Super Sonic wrote:Wondering on when they get to Jiraiya's debut as I don't think you can commit blasphemy on AS, so they might change one line of his that was in the uncut dub.

Re: DBZ Returning to Toonami, Pretty Likely.
The guys from Toonami themselves don't consider that as an "uncut" version so much as a different version. The Toonami version has stuff that's unique to it apparently (or so they said on Tumblr). It's the version they choice (the one that they intended to make). I'll take next episode previews with Peter Cullen over any additions/more violence/fanservice Japan added.MarcFBR wrote:I don't even know how to respond when an entire post someone makes is wrong.

I would really like for them to air Dragon Ball, too, if this is the case...

Another DBZ pic reblogged. I'm actually gonna say we could get an announcement during the next Q&A on the tumblr.
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

Re: DBZ Returning to Toonami, Pretty Likely.
I'm not comfortable writing it directly, but in describing himself as a sage, Jiraiya said the word "damn" after saying "god". Outside of South Park and Boondocks, that phrase tends to get censored on movies.Big Momma wrote:Just out of curiosity, what's the line?
