RocktheDragon wrote:Great point! I really think that is part of the answer as well. The long breaks are no longer needed and might actually be more of a detriment! If all the season's are out then I'd assume it would give a buyer more pressure to buy more seasons at a time. But you can't do that if they aren't all out yet.
If they have the finished product ready to be release then publish it but don't rush an incomplete flawed product which needs to be improved, it just so happens with many games (Aliens Colonial Marines) and series/films (Tom & Jerry Golden Vol. 2) on BD/DVD out there that deserved to be polished more. And then there's that the breaks they give should be at least for a month or more because not everyone can shell out money quickly for entertainment even though they'd want to.
But that's assuming there is some kind of problem with a release being out and you not being able to afford it.

These current season releases aren't going to be going anywhere like the Dragon Boxes. These aren't limited products but the main BD release of DBZ for North America. And video games are another matter that really doesn't have many comparisons here. Funimation can't really do much with these sets that would improve their quality. The release is what it is and no amount of time can or would change that.

They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.

They could do the simple things like correcting the colours (make it look more natural than yellowy), saturation (loosing detail isn't for the better), cropping and much more but since that's too much for them it's mostly automated.

February 18 (delay notwithstanding), April 1, May 13, June 24; FUNimation seems to intend for a season release every six weeks. If this trend continues, after June 24 it's August 5, September 16, October 28, and December 9.

Do the colours look ok on these blu ray sets?
It is clear that sometime in Mark Satan's life, he acquired the dragon balls and called upon shenlong to grant him immortality.

Too yellowy and bright for me.

But this is somewhat fixable although the customers shouldn't really have to do the job that those remastering should.

This was just modified a bit on Paint.net.

Hmm those colours don't look great, an improvement over the old orange bricks. That isn't saying much, plus I have the dragon boxes. I might buy these for shits and giggles, but that would be it.

Also the background in the second photo looks out of focus?

Those colours look pretty crappy. I agree with the above poster though, that it's an improvement over the OB's for sure.

What's the exact episode number and time stamp of that scene with Goku in the hospital?

Just watched that scene from dragon box 1 and wow......the difference is astonishing. Funimation could have done much better on these blu rays.

They definitely could've but they just didn't.

RockTheDragon @ I think it's somewhere in episode 039.

The only things funimation have done correctly were the level sets....which were cancelled and the rock the dragon edition. The dragon boxes were done by toei and pony canyon, does funimation actually understand that over saturating and messing up the colours is terrible? Or do they not care?

Releases that FUNimation did properly:

- Singles (Saiyan arc & early Freeza arc were edited but the rest was uncut)
- Dragon Box Z (limited stock)
- Ultimate Uncut Edition (cancelled)
- Level Blu-rays (cancelled)

Had the UUE not been cancelled perhaps we'd have gotten the DBZ Movie Singles remastered (04-13) like the first three were.

Here's a comparison of Dead Zone - UUE Vs. Big Green DVD:
Why must all good things come to an end, FUNimation? :(
