Seeing as Dragon Quest, another series which Toriyama was heavily invovled with, is now getting a Dynasty Warriors styled game - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9Kld6yQVJY
I think the possibility of a eventual DBZ styled Warriors game has went up by a decent margin.

There were like 6 differente Musou games, including the Dragon Quest one, on the Sony conference alone. Do we really need another one for Dragon Ball right now?

I am bored to hell with Dynasty Warriors games. Last one I played was Gundam 3 and it is probably the worst I played. I actually enjoyed DW7.

Omega Force has never bothered to give a consistent framerate and even on their newest rehash, i.e, Hyrule Warriors it's very inconsistent making the game somewhat unplayable, as if it weren't bad enough that all you do is slash hundred of enemies and then repeat on the next stage.

I've been thinking about this very idea for the past few days! I pictured a Warriors Orochi style of combat would be the best for a DBZ game. Imagine a team of Son Goku, Vegeta, and Beers-Sama kicking the butts of Freeza's soldiers and/or Saibaman? During combat your character can access their transformations and such.
Much like how Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate's roster is insanely big, this would be a great excuse to throw in many characters from the DB Universe! Who wouldn't want to pick Freeza, Cooler, and King Cold and just destroy hordes of enemies?!

I think I would buy it to try, seems like a terrible format for a dragon ball game. Also everyone would complain about the game play being too simple and it's not real dbz. isn't battle of z the closest thing we have had to that? it seems like no one was too high on that game.

I could definitely see a Dragon Ball Musō that covers the pre-Z era. Perhaps even for the Z and GT era, though they'd need a little more creativity when it comes to peons and how they would incorporate flight (if at all). All in all, I'm for it.
For those who find the Musō games to be bland, up the difficulty a notch. It's a lot more interesting on Chaos/Nightmare/Ultimate difficulty.
... Better yet, they could make a Shin Saiyūki Musō/True Journey to the West Musou to loosely retell another Chinese classic.
(EDIT: I just remembered that Koei has already made a Journey to the West game, just not a Musou game.)

So I got Hyrule Warriors the other day and in terms of visual and soundtrack it's great but when it comes down to its gameplay and overall system you're just going around part by part slashing hundreds of enemies (sometimes they don't even give a rats ass about you as they just stand there waiting to be attacked), so I guess if Bandai Namco hired Omega Force to reskin one of their Dynasty Warriors' games then the only people who'd enjoy would be DWxDB fans because for the rest it gets tiresome very quickly.
I didn't even manage to finish the first stage because I got bored of killing the enemies around the map with the same attacks. Dynasty Warriors' games really lack a lot of creativity and originality.

Honestly, I don't know much about how exactly things work in HW, as I don't own a Wii U, but from my experience with DW games, bumping up the difficulty always makes things more challenging than "mash button square to win", which is why I hardly every play on Normal. Highest difficulty makes you have to make use every little resource at your disposal (buffs, optimal combos for specific situations, turning the tide in your favor so the enemy doesn't run a train on you etc etc.) to come out alive of the more aggressive and buffed up mobs. I guess, at the end of the day, these games aren't everybody's cup of tea.dbboxkaifan wrote:So I got Hyrule Warriors the other day and in terms of visual and soundtrack it's great but when it comes down to its gameplay and overall system you're just going around part by part slashing hundreds of enemies (sometimes they don't even give a rats ass about you as they just stand there waiting to be attacked), so I guess if Bandai Namco hired Omega Force to reskin one of their Dynasty Warriors' games then the only people who'd enjoy would be DWxDB fans because for the rest it gets tiresome very quickly.

Yes. A good friend of mine adores Dynasty Warriors-I could care less. And while my friend likes DBZ, I'm the bigger fan. This would definitely be a game for us to play endlessly.
