It is also important to note that Freeza probably believed that 100% of his strength and power was all he was capable of ever achieving. By that point Freeza was both prideful and really, really desperate. Unless the upcoming film somehow retcons that toomAcChaos wrote:Too proud and stubborn. Re: Freeza is now stronger than Boo saga?
No, in the new manga (and probably movie) Freeza learns that Goku defeated Buu and in response Freeza states that Goku became more powerful than he imagined but it didn't matter because if he trained for 4 months he would surpass Goku.Maphisto86 wrote:

That's precisely why the new movie portrays Freeza as very lazy and stupid. Because in it Freeza is aware that he could become way stronger with a bit of training.
Re: Freeza is now stronger than Boo saga?
Does it portray him as always having realized how good of an idea training is, or only coming to realize this after getting his asses handed to him twice, being killed, and then coming to learn of how powerful Goku was able to get?rereboy wrote:That's precisely why the new movie portrays Freeza as very lazy and stupid. He talks about it matter-of-factly, like he had had always known it but just didn't bother.Zephyr wrote:Does it portray him as always having realized how good of an idea training is, or only coming to realize this after getting his asses handed to him twice, being killed, and then coming to learn of how powerful Goku was able to get?rereboy wrote:That's precisely why the new movie portrays Freeza as very lazy and stupid. And he also mentions that he never had a reason to train which is kind of silly since his defeat on Namek was a pretty good reason to train... You know, before going to Earth and getting killed?
Re: Freeza is now stronger than Boo saga?
If he already had a power up, had backup from his dad, and didn't know a Super Saiyan from the future was going to ambush him, I think his laxness is much more understandable.rereboy wrote:And he also mentions that he never had a reason to train which is kind of silly since his defeat on Namek was a pretty good reason to train... Re: Freeza is now stronger than Boo saga?
I don't see how. If he knows that he can become massively stronger with just a bit of training (namek power levels to Beerus power levels in just 4 months), then him choosing not to do that (after his complete defeat at Namek) is a testament to his laziness and stupidity.Zephyr wrote:

Re: Freeza is now stronger than Boo saga?
Freeza only made it a point to train when he realized Goku was more powerful than he thought. Freeza thought his Mecha upgrade put him at a level where he might defeat Goku. We don't know how long it took for Freeza's Mecha change, but I think he was ready to go to earth right after it was done. He could've trained after being rebuilt, but revenge seemed to be his main priority. That, and the fact that he doesn't seem to care about improving his skills. When Goku suggests this, he throws another kienzan at him. Apparently the temporary option (Mecha) was more appealing than dedicating himself to training for a few months. Sounds perfectly reasonable for someone of Freeza's character.
So yeah, Freeza's an incompetent moron.

Until something says otherwise, I'm going with "he couldn't train while he was 70% a robot" and "healing technology improved a lot in the 15 years since his death."Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:Freeza only made it a point to train when he realized Goku was more powerful than he thought. That sounds reasonable, too.

Not a very strong case for it since Toriyama stated that the androids could get stronger by training.Kamiccolo9 wrote:[

Well from what we're told, the Android twins' modifications are mostly biological, with the only notable mechanical parts being the bombs and remote shutdown whatsit. They're not "mostly robotic" like Mecha-Freeza was.rereboy wrote:Not a very strong case for it since Toriyama stated that the androids could get stronger by training.

Yet, Freeza still has natural Ki and they don't. If they don't even have natural Ki and can, I don't see why Freeza couldn't, even if the training wouldn't be as effective for him as it would be if he was whole.Kaboom wrote:Well from what we're told, the Android twins' modifications are mostly biological, with the only notable mechanical parts being the bombs and remote shutdown whatsit. Re: Freeza is now stronger than Boo saga?
Is it also possible that Freeza's first form is now stronger than his final form and he goes through each transformation until he reaches his new form and that's how he is so strong? Nobody on here seems to bring up his new transformation because that's when he starts owning Goku in the trailer.
For his new form to be capable of taking out Goku, his final form must be above Boo saga.
