If I had to pick 3 it'd be Goku, Vegeta & Gohan. I hope Gohan becomes a pseudo-main character once again like in Z (I considered him a dual main character tbh), and I would like for Piccolo, Krillin, Tien and 18 to have more relevance. Maybe 17's role in the story can be expanded up due that whole thing about how he's a park ranger and stuff

I think 5 would be a better main cast size than 3... and I'd want it to rotate. That's what I loved about Dragon Ball, originally. From the beginning of the manga until the end, it rotated its cast quite effectively, although I feel Goku and Vegeta should have both been phased out.

So I guess I'd start with phasing Goku and Vegeta out, let Gohan take the lead while Goten, Trunks and 18 get more development, while also giving more screentime to Boo. Then eventually they'd be phased out for Oob, Pan and Bra.

Beerus is a character who I definitely think can be used more, but with his sleeping it wouldn't make sense if he was constantly active every time a threat appeared. It's a good way to keep him above the threat level of the villains without having him there to solve everything, though.

it would be like Goku on Namek, they are lost / busy until the end of the fight but finally appear

this solves the rest of the cast have leadership a lot of time (as Krillin and gohan in Namek) , is consistent, because you know that they have immense power and will not sit idly, keeps the interest in the series

When they disappeared in the saga boo, dead both in theory no return much interest waned, and this is real.
