Demon of Light wrote:The Freeza arc is always a bit hard for me to go through. All the running around and hiding and stealing Dragon Balls is really tedious. There are definitely a lot of good moments in the arc and I enjoy a lot of the characters introduced in it, but it's just kinda sluggish. I think a big part of the problem, though, is that I know the big SSJ transformation is coming, and it's such a ridiculous peak for the entire franchise that I end up anticipating it so much even on rewatches and rereads.
Respectfully disagree. I liked the strategic cat/mouse slant for that string of episodes. It was a little different than "who can punch harder" plot.

Agreed, the move countermove stuff was well done and really interesting to watch. For instance, Vegeta gets beaten nearly to death by Zarbon and is taken on board Freeza's ship. He's in horrible shape and Freeza is only several feet away. Vegeta is basically a dead man, but not only does he escape, he's able to steal Freeza's DB's right out from under everyone's noses. It's fantastic writing.
The biggest truths aren't original. The truth is ketchup. It's Jim Belushi. Its job isn't to blow our minds. It's to be within reach.

For me it's always the Bansho Fan arc right before Saiyan Saga and Garlic Jr. Also parts of the Frieza Saga.
