Why is everyone so set on Goku being hugely strong in GT?

I'm sorry what? Goku has NEVER done this. Kaioken has always been shown with an aura, the only exception being x3 for one instance, but even then his clothes had a lighter tone in the anime and his muscles were bigger.

Yeah, I was referring to Base Vegetto, based on his performance in the filler (in a conversation about GT, I tend to think the filler is fair game).

Oh, and here's what my fan-theory of setting GT SSJ Goku and Metal Rildo at Base Vegetto gets us:

Metal Rildo/GT SSJ Goku/Vegetto: (let's just call it X for convenience)
GT SSJ2 Goku: 2X
GT SSJ3 Goku: 8X
SSJ Vegetto: 50X
GT SSJ4 Goku: 80X

According to the GT comic (it was a comic, right?), Vegetto (some unspecified form of him, anyway) is perhaps stronger than a SSJ4 (the only one of which at the time was Goku). "Perhaps" allows for the possibility of "perhaps not", but I would read that as meaning "assuredly within the same ballpark". Which I would consider 50X and 80X.

Obviously not proof, but when multiple interpretations converge like that, I tend to be comfortable with my guesses.

It was GT Perfect Files you are thinking of. I don't consider 50x and 80x to be in the same ballpark or close. Adding 50% to 50 still gives you number lower than 80. Whis could decimate Beerus and he's only 50% stronger than him. 1.5x is a better number for Base Vegetto making him 75x when Super.

Vegito combined both parties the better the rivalry the better the strength and Goku and Vegeta ever did it in super they beat GT hands down.

The statement comparing Super Vegetto to a SSJ4 is in the GT Anime Comic, not in the Perfect Files.

Btw, I like Herms' theory. I would even apply it to every animated-production that involves filler, movies, side-stories, spin-offs that Toei has creative rights on. It doesn't seem like there is a large difference between Goku's forms. Perhaps Super Saiyan 4 is only 10x as strong as Base Goku (See kamehameha x10?). Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan 3 may fit between that blanked gap.
