whoah! Laura, when'd you get here? Yeah, the problem I'd see with that though is there would be no other characters which alienates a lot of fans who don't necessarily like Gokuh and there wouldn't be much action oher than Gokuh crushing things with his ape fists. The action element is kind of what any movie company would be depending on for an audience. I guess in a world where people didn't really have any strong impressions of DB/Z that could work out.

You do have a point... It could end up like Star Wars Episode I: The story about the main star as a kid, who's cute, sure, but everyone walks out of the movie hating it.Mr. Announcer wrote:whoah! Ok, scrap that idea, then. I could totally go for a prequel to Dragon Ball... a movie that features Bardock... and not just that one movie. I mean, yeah, sure, it can cover stuff from the Bardock movie, but I wanna know about his life.
These are my ideas, I'll keep them concise...
A trilogy: Dragonball, Saiyans, Namek\Freeza.
The Dragonball universe is an intergalactic society; with aliens (that perhaps resemble animals?) living on Earth, and humanity being worried about Freeza.
First movie is Goku's origins, and then the main villain is Piccolo. Second is the Saiyans invading for the Dragonballs, and third is the fiasco on Namek, ending the trilogy with Goku's becoming and dying as the Super Saiyan, like Toriyama-sensei originally wanted it. The Cell and Buu arcs would be cool, but I really think it'd be overkill if they were movie-ized.

I thought the same thing about Larry's movie idea. To be true to DB it'd need 2 characters.. (or a cast of amusing, talking animals that Goku joins on adventures, but we're just getting TACKY there)
*sweatdrops at larry* I LOVED star-wars episode one. I mean, it was more to my tastes than the other two... (bleugh romance, and anikin became a weakling! Bah...)
I like Kaboom's idea. You know, it has that same 'escalating' feel that the Matrix trilogy has... stopping it at the Frieza saga would most definately be a wise move. The frieza saga, (goku's SSJ transformation) has an epicness and solidarity. Afterwards, the story becomes too tangled and rolling to make a good movie.
