I was introduced to the series through the boring summer of 2010/2011. I had no friends and just sat home all day watching reruns of Avatar the Last Airbender on Nicktoons. I was pissed to find out that instead of Avatar being on TV, I instead saw two beefy guys fighting one another. I was intrigued, so I sat down to watch more, then one of them (vegeta) turned into a giant monkey and beat the crap out of the other. It was the first time I'd ever seen such an intense fight. So every day, until the end of Kai, I made it my goal to watch the new episode. I soon became a dragon ball fanatic and collected all of Z on DVD. It was a great time.

Being an old man of 27, my two sources are A) listening to people talk and seeing their shirts in middle school (one stands out, it's Broly in the background, and the Early Saga Z Fighters + Vegeta ready to throw down, so awesome) and Cartoon Network, specifically Toonami
