Did SS3 Goku surpass Gotenks and Ultimate Gohan?

So what do you think? Did Goku really surpassed Gotenks and Gohan?

Considering Goku defeated someone Gotenks and Gohan didn't, I guess there is no problem with thinking Goku is the strongest here. In another hand, Goku admited he was not capable of defeating a form of Boo which Gohan and Gotenks had a chance against.. So, yes and no. It depends on your perspective. For example, by Vegeta's, Goten's and Roshi's perspectives Goku is implied to be the strongest in the world (excluding Beerus) and that was before Super Saiyan God was a fact.

Unlike the original manga which portrayed Gohan's "ultimate" state as a permanent change to his power and being, Toei seems to treat it like a transformation. Some alternative to Super Saiyan that allows him to tap into all his dormant power at once instead of x50-x100 increments or whatever. So from that angle, it's halfway plausible that he could still barely pull it off during Battle of Gods but have lost the ability by Resurrection F a year later.

Maybe not a transformation per se, but I thought the manga did treat the Mystic as an activateable boost. The Elder Kai tells him that using it is the same as turning SSJ, but with a kiai added on top.

Yeah, and I figure that's where Toei got the idea from. But the manga never showed him revert from that state in any way, even 10 years later when he was lazing around and being scholarly. Which leads me to believe that the "power up with extra oomph" was just required to finalize the ritual in some way or another.

That would make the power scaling weird and would give Beerus owning Gohan and Gotenks less meaning.

I know i didnt to be honest, until goten and trunks first fused and gohan revealed that first glimpse of his new power when getting mad at the old kai.

SS3 Gotenks is weaker than Kid Boo and Super Boo?

I doubt he was weaker than kid boo, but Super boo never fought versus Gotenks seriously. He was waiting for Gohan so he kept the kids around in case he needed to absorb them.

Gotenks was still stronger, but Gohan was to a greater extent. Boo got mad and started attacking Gotenks wildly. Had the Fusion not ended, Gotenks would've likely vaporized him.
