Trunks hair color?!!!

The only thing I saw was a silhouette of him that turned blue, but the hair did stand up. I really don't think that Trunks is Super Saiyan Blue (God damn, that name...). I think the hair has to be spiky.

That's what I'm saying. There's no need for it. If Trunks, Goten, Gohan, and whoever else turn Super Saiyan Blue (damn this name), it kind of takes the magic away and then there will need to be yet another transformation that's exclusive to Goku... until everyone catches up to it.

I'd make an argument that Super Saiyan Blue isn't magical in the first place. Going by the lore of the series, the only thing making it special is that you transform into Super Saiyan with god ki instead of traditional ki, but I'm just giving Trunks an excuse to be powerful without issue at this point.

Technically if it ever happens, Trunks would be the first and only Saiyan from his Timeline to achieve the SSB, so the magic would still remain. Trunks is probably living under extreme circumstances and for this guy Black to be a threat, he has to be either at the same level of a God or even above.

I just think its kinda dumb because Kid Trunks in Super still has purple hair. Had Super changed kid Trunks hair to blue too at the start then I suppose it wouldn't have mattered.

Am I the only one who doesn't really care color scheme consistency? As seen in many color pages and covers in the original manga, Toriyama has a tendency to freely change color schemes according to the balance in each panel/page, which I think is part of the charm of his art. I like the bluish hair in DBZ movie 9 for the same reason, but I've never heard of any complaints about it.

I do care about the colors that are clearly stated in-universe, though.

I don't really care for it since Bulma's hair had the same problem going on. Maybe its just to make it easier to differentiate between Kid and Future Trunks. It would be nice if it is given an explanation in or even out of universe but it won't bother me if it's left unexplained

This is just me, but I don't see the need to jump through hoops or adamantly search for the reason Trunks has blue hair now. It's obviously just a design change for Super, and it doesn't relate to Trunks's hair color in the manga. I highly doubt we will hear anything in-universe about a "change" because the characters won't see a difference.

That's... all still lavender. Could be blue if you squint on the first picture, I guess.

Trunks has purple hair because Bulma has purple hair (in the comics). The anime didn't seem to catch that, or simply didn't care. If anything, this new hair color of his is fixing that minor inconsistency, given that it's now more or less the same color as Bulma's.

But whatever. It's just hair, and it's not anything distracting like hot pink or something. Count me among those who couldn't care less either way.

I agree that it's just a redesign, no more of an in-universe explanation than why Goku and Vegeta have black hair but Goku's has grey shading while Vegeta's has brown/purple.
