Ehem "onda vital" "guerrero del espacio" (instead of calling a saiyajin, saiyan or saiyajin, that dub changed the name into "space warriors" or something like that)
Is that a fucking joke ?
The original funimation version was a disgrace. The stuff like the phantom zone and scientist Bardock and whatever, that was far worse than "space warriors".......
Ocean were the ones who came up with "scientist Bardock".
Ocean was contracted by FUNimation who ultimately called the shots, therefore pre-Ocean and post-Ocean American dubs are FUNimation dubs.
Also, modern FUNimation is pretty good. I wouldn't mind if Big Green did it, either. Just for laughs.

Anime companies these days keep their anime faithful to the Japanese version as possible. We don't have to worry about Funimation watering and Americanization Super. I guess it's been so long since we had a new show, some people are still stuck in the past.

I highly doubt FUNimation is ever going to dub Super. Everyone who's watched the whole series has already watched Super fansubs so it's pretty redundant to dub. I would like to see a dub of Super (and I'm in the middle of Z, so I'll probably be able to see at least one episode of dubbed Super by the time I've finished) but I pretty much know everything about the storyline thanks to the spoilers everywhere. That being said, I will still watch Super when I've finished GT because it's Dragon Ball and I love the franchise.

You could say the same thing about GT and DBZ Movies 4-13 (DBZ Movies 1-3 already got dubs before 2001-2006) since most fans probably watched fansubs of those movies and GT before they came out. I mean Fusion Reborn and Wrath of the Dragon came out in 2006 when the Internet was already in most people's house with faster speed for the last 4-5 years at the time. And yet people still bought them and watch them. Most causal Dragon Ball fans I talk too outside the Internet have yet to watch Super and told me that they will wait for a English dub of the show because they don't care for the Japanese voices.

Not everyone has seen the subs, though, so there's still a need to get an official dub or at least sub.

I'm honestly hoping that, if FUNimation does ever get the license for DBS, they maintain its original score like they did with Kai.

The hardcore fans will watch it sub while the casual fans would wait for the dub. It's like when before GT came out. Most of the fandom on the web already seen GT before 2003 while casual fans would have to wait for the dub to air on Toonami. It seems like people forgot what it was like waiting for a English dub for a show to come out. I still remember long before GT aired in the US, I would only have images of GT in magazines and school rumors of GT to go by before I went on the Internet and found fan web sites for info.

Tell that to Harmony Gold xD

Considering how the French dub has improved compared to the AB Groupe era, I think that a "Big Green dub" of Super, even if it keeps the same dub terms and voice acting (ALA Catalan Kai dub), would still be much better than the AB Groupe english dub of the movies.

I'm 100% sure that they will. They do the same with their other anime titles. GT was the last DB show got a replacement score. GT's score reeks mid 2000's every time I listen to it. Tries too hard to be like Bruce Faulconer and does not fit the show at all.

BF for the score if they ever decide to dub Super.
Also, want those metal, hardcore American bands as it really emphasizes the violence!
PANTERA for Broly was a perfect mix and brought that movie alive.

Agreed. The old days of Faulconer and heavy metal are fortunately over. No more "Hardcore Rock DBZ!!!!" is a good thing in my opinion. Though it's gonna cause a big uproar on the U.S side of things.

Hardcore DBZ is what pretty much brought the UK/USA fans into the series. I don't see why It's a bad thing at all. It fits with Funi for me.

I respect your opinion and what you like. You have your own preferences and that's perfectly fine but "Hardcore DBZ" isn't what brought all of USA/UK people into being fans of the series. First, you got people like Mike and the other moderators who were here and the late 90s and they loved the original. Then you have your people from the latter years in the late 2000s who grew up with the Orange Bricks with the japanese score. And then you have the now high schooler kids like me who grew up with Kai in the early 2010s on Nicktoons and Toonzai. I'm not trying to turn this into a debate but "Hardcore DBZ" isn't what brought all of us into the franchise.

Haha, yeah. I agree with you. Those who grew up watching it in the 1990's with the Faulconer score would likely be attracted to the violent DBZ. Not everyone, I keep forgetting new viewers wouldn't have experienced Z back on Toonami/ Cartoon Network. I still stand by what I said though, that introducing Faulconer to Super wouldn't be a bad idea. It could be an option to choose from, like how the orange bricks handled it.
