Does watching DBS feel the same as watching DBZ?
Re: Does watching DBS feel the same as watching DBZ?
Different. DB for example was different to watch. I started with DB, then the saiyan saga was introduced. I still remember thinking, who is this long haired guy that can beat Goku so easily. Then i remember Vegeta fighting Freeza, and ssj Goku vs Freeza. That fight i saw allot of episodes. I remember seeing Trunks cut Freeza in half. And those humans attacking Cell with that hammer which shattered into tiny pieces. Then i saw, and i will never forget it, and dare i say it at that time i felt like in the safest place in the whole world, like i was in heaven. I was 11 or 12 i think and i was in my bed, in my room, lights turned off, tucked in under my blanket all cozzy and i was watching a marathon or w/e u call it on TV. It was the whole Gohan vs Cell fight. Good memories.
Only after many years once i had access to internet, good internet i was able to watch all of Z. But it is funny, even when i was oblivious to the planet busting thing, i always thought the z fighters were the strongest beings in all fiction. I still do, i just dont say in vs debates, tho i dont debate anymore, since it is pointless hehe.
I was like, wow they look so cool, they move fast and they can destroy big stuff. They must be the strongest.
GT i never saw until last year, when i decided to give it a go, i only heared of it and saw some clips and didnt like it.
So as much as i loved DB and Z i love Super. I cant really explain it, it just clicks to me. But to watch, it is a whole different experience, in a good way. DB was another world, filled with magic for me, z with aliens and technology and super, with gods and the great cosmos.
And i hope, Super will have many many episodes.

No, it probably feels better. I got into DBZ too late, and most of the stuff had already been spoiled for me. Being able to witness new moments live is a great feeling.

Well, I gotta eat my word now because after episode 61. I haven't felt such a rushing watching an episode since Goku became a SSJ for the first time.Super also has been lacking in, what it would call, a "signature moment". A moment that would always remain unique and special to that certain show.

I thought the Goku rage against Black and Zamasu was the best moment in the series but man the end with Trunks. Yow. Also they played the same track there when Goku went SS in the "F" special which might be why you feel that way.Lord Beerus wrote:Well, I gotta eat my word now because after episode 61. Agreed, best part was he didn't even have to transform into a new form to give us that feeling! Perhaps Goku being more child-like in Super is worth it when we get these rare pissed of moments of his.Lord Beerus wrote:Well, I gotta eat my word now because after episode 61. There are a few moments we can consider "signature moments"Xeztin wrote:Agreed, best part was he didn't even have to transform into a new form to give us that feeling! No and thank God. Every story till now and yes even GT were unique. Some fans has gone so crazy with Z that forget that it might not be the best part of the whole series (understandable since I think that in USA z was broadcasted before db right?). I was lucky enough to watch a broadcast starting from db and moving to GT so I learn to enjoy each series. I still consider the tournament before Raditz as one of the best moments in db and Cell as one of the worse.
People should enjoy the new series as a separated entity and enjoy all the references to past moments. To recapitulate, I don't think Toei tries to replicate Z. They want to expand the series
And yes stuff like the sound effects are taking me off too from the action when a strong punch sounds like light tapping. Whenever I make a clip using video footage from Super and Z's sound effects the actions becomes way better. Yesterday, Goku's punches to Black felt weak even in rage mode
