"Resurrection 'F'" Receiving New Trunks Material in Fuji TV Airing

As much as I would like to see a new TV Special about Future Trunks, I think it's still too early for it. They should wait until the arc is over and then expand the story of both Zamasu and Trunks basing on the few flashbacks we have seen. We still have to see Trunks' full battle against Dabura and Babidi, how he achieved SSJ2, a more complete version of his first fights against Black. Also we probably won't get a detailed flashback of how Zamasu got Goku's body and his backstory so they will probably show it in a TV Special.
We will see though. Maybe by August 27th they will have already shown Black's backstory in Super so they can expand with the tv special.
I really, really hope they don't mess up an eventual new TV Special. I absolutely love Bardock's TV Special and Trunks' one. They are incredibly good and I rewatch them every year. So I expect to see the dark tones and the level of quality of the first two specials.

They really wanna push Future Trunks out there, don't they? I don't mind, I like Future Trunks.

As someone already mentioned, it would be awesome to see what Trunks was up to in his time-line after he beat Cell and the Androids. Maybe there will be another villain before Babidi showed up.

I'm still impressed on how he took out Dabura.

If the Trunks special is new, with all the production problems can they really afford to be animating a new special? especially with Super to air hours later, I reckon it will just be the old one.

Yeah, it seems like it's going to be more akin to Resurrection "F": "Future" Trunks Special (edition). Which means I may have to buy the movie again, for the third time now.

So since it's airing on late night slot, do you think the special will shy away from Super's light hearted tone and be more dark and grittier ?

it will probably maintain the same level as the movie when it comes to gore. I cannot answer about how dark it is going to be atm, however from what they are telling us it does not seem to be a dark story.

I personally think that they will just air the old classic Trunks TV Special.
Why make new animation with their already so tight schedules, when they have 40 min long special about Trunks sitting in their archives.
Will they recolor Trunks' hair tough? That is the question.

So it really looks like we're getting a new TV Special? I'm fucking hyped! Also hoping that the fact it's getting shown late night in Japan will mean it will have more blood, gore and darker tones.

And it looks like it will tell Future Trunks' vs Freezer, but it's still called Resurrection F so it's probable Freezer got revived in Trunks' timeline too... ??

I didn't watch it live or anything, but it seems One Piece Heart of Gold had a ~2 hour block and ended up being ~105 minutes according to the Crunchyroll version streamed. The new edition of Resurrection "F" also has a 2 hour and 10 minute block, and the original film was 93 minutes...could that mean we get a little over that with the new animation? I really don't want it to be a fairly short addition.

Nothing in the articles posted yet suggests that the additions will be spread throughout like Battle of Gods. It specifically notes the Trunks versus Freeza in what they posted.

It's not a new special and it's not Freeza being revived in his timeline, it's just an extended edition to the RF movie that shows a different view point of his fight with him when he went back in time.
