I just read the manga from beginning to end for the very first time

I like it when authors know when to stop instead of milking something for all its worth.
Maybe it's just the wording, but I like when authors ring every last drop of story they can, but not past that point.
That said, Dragon Ball does go a bit overboard (underboard?) in its simplicity.
Do you have any ideas of something he could've expanded upon that actually adds to the story?

I do as well. It seems like Toriyama is here to stay now but hopefully he walks away when he feels like he's truly done everything he can like he did with the original manga. If he steps donw then I think Toyotaru will be a good replacement for him.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I do think we're well past that point. It feels like the cow has been milked dry long ago.
