Why have 17 and 18 simply vanished?

Why do people keep making threads like this?

Neither Android 17 or 18 have been eliminated, so they're still in the Tournament, so they will rather obviously continue to have something to do eventually. They will have their fight and their moment later.

People brought this up with Frieza and then recently with Cabba. It's like people expect all the significant characters to be involved constantly. The series will get around to them when the story calls for it.

People have short attention spans? :p

So as most have noticed most of the U3 robot characters are still in the tournament.

Anyone think they're saving them for 17 and 18 to clean house? It would make sense for our "Androids" to take care of a robot team.

I just realized we have not seen 17 or 18 in quite a while. What happened to them? For all the hype 17 got especially for being brought back in the tournament, he only really had maybe an episode and a half of spotlight so far. 18 got some nice wins in, but I still want to see her do more. Especially since there's a great possibility of 18 being the next main character knocked out of the tournament, so I fear she doesn't have much time left.

Since Universe 3 still has a lot of fighters left, I would like to see 17 and 18 "clean house" of all the robot fighters. Would seem fitting.

I hope that U3 has at least one fighter stronger than 17. It would be weird if the strongest technologically-enhanced warrior in the tournament wasn't from U3.

I think #17 will get his moment against the strongest fighter from either Universe 4 or 5. I think Piccolo will be going out against the Namekians after he saves Gohan. Gohan is being saved for Dyspo, and Frieza for Kale (foreshadowing in 112 that Frieza was going to "play" with the other two U6 saiyans.

I think we could see them taking on either:

A) Damon and Gamisaras, the two U4 bugs
B) The U3 robots should that whole "Megazord" theory hold water

Actually, it's more like #17's fans created the hype themselves. #17 didn't get any better treatment than Krillin or Gohan. He wasn't overhyped or anything. Unless some people considered him overhyped from being obsolete to becoming relevant again.

Because their voice actors are expensive, so Toei won't pay much for a bunch of cameos between episodes where they have no focus.
Actually, I'm joking, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was true...

Well U4 has the little blue guy Shantsa, and the twin bugs that are hiding. Also I'm pretty sure it's going to be difficult for 17 & 18 to take out U5 considering U5 isn't actually participating in the tournament.

If I called the shots, after taking out Dyspo, and having an impressive showing, Kale and Caulifla fusion begins to wear out while battling the Android siblings, and in the confusion 18 & 17 take them out. Though that's unlikely to happen.
