Does it feature any pieces from the original Dragon Ball score? My friends and I are discussing this right now and no one can seem to remember, with the exception of, I'm pretty sure you hear a little piece of Makafushigi Adventure in M01, right?
Dragon Ball Z carries over a few tracks from Dragon Ball (1986) but the longer the series runs, the less those older tracks are used. I think by the end of the Planet Namek arc, the use of music from the original series and its three films ends.

Off the top of my head, the choral track that plays when Piccolo dies is from Dragon Ball Movie #2.

This track is used after Gohan turns SSJ2 and Krillin and the others leave the scene after healing up with Senzu. Though it's the last use this track has.

I'm going to rank these scores in accordance to as someone who's worked with the pieces. I haven't worked with or listened to all the scores so here goes.

1. Yamamoto - yes he plagiarized, and a lot more for the games than so for the series, but for the series I think he only plagiarized a handful of tracks and I've only experienced his tracks for the series. His music brings such variety and composition for Dragon Ball that wasn't there before and fills lesser scenes with spectacle. Only complaint is how its scored in the original fashion, but that's why I've rescored it in my own way.

2. Kikuchi - This is a close second, kikuchi brings such a unique sound to music entirely that is unmatched from most composers and for some scenes really stands out. It was truly a pleasure scoring the kikuchi kai ost just because it brought the special touch of OG dragon ball sound and it unites DB and DB Kai.

3. Yamashita - I hate DB daima, but its OST is fire and yamashita really spits out some great tracks. I think he has real potential as dragon ball's future composer if super returns and can't wait to see what he comes up with.

4. Sumitomo - Had some great tracks, particularly late in super and in the broly movie, but a lot of early super and kai TFC ranges from mid to truly awful, I.E. effective attack in kai tfc. One of my gripes is how every track follows the same pattern of AABA, rather than shaking it up in how they are formatted so it adds variety.

5. Faulconer. My first work for DB, now I can barely stand it. Faulconer has some bangers and is truly iconic in certain scenes but now I just see majority of it as unacceptable for dragonball, in particular its need to match a track punch for punch with the scene and how some of its music is just ridiculous in tone.
