I hope I don't get the flu. I don't want to get it from your post. Stay away!

Oh, and the chief obstacle to the progression of the human race is the human race.

Maybe AT just wanted to make aliens cooler than people. Well, now we know where he stands.

When the aliens come, he'll be the first to die by my hand, that alien-loving hippy bastard. It's un-American! I don't care if he is Japanese! My rightness is only outweighed by my magnificene.

*glows*

Gosh, with views like that Eppy, I'm suprised Bush hasn't come knocking on your door to be his vice-president! :P

Someone needs their head examined... and for once, it's not Jersey or Liam...

Touch my head and I'll have you destroyed.

Tremble before me in awe.

Three things wrong with that:

1) I'm not even getting near a psycho like you
2) I can't be destroyed
3) I do not fear you

Also, how are strong aliens un-American  ?

Anyway, back on topic, do you think Toriyama should have gone a little further into DB's mythology, including more backstory for his deities, as well as flesh out their abilities?

Some back story for the deities would've been nice, as well as for the rest of the characters. There are tons of things he could've expounded upon, but he didn't, unfortunately. He mostly stuck to the story at hand, and he made that up as he went along. :P But on one hand, it does add a sense of mystery and leave some things open for interpretation by individual fans. Toei took some liberties with that and created some neat little backstories in the filler scenes, and I guess it also gives fanfic writers something to work on, too.
